Just curious as it seems women are getting married younger and younger now days. I am 21 but will be 22 when I am married. My FI is 25.
There's many threads about this in "20" something category. This is one of them: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/young-brides-why-get-married-now
FI and I will be 25 on our big day... But yeah, it seems younger and younger people are getting married!
I'm 23 and my FI is 22! We're so happy to be young and getting married!
I am 21 and Mr. Turtle is 22! People tend to think we are young and stupid for getting married so youmg, but they gain a little bit more respect for our relationship when they hear that we have been together for almost six years. :)
I'm 21, will be 22 when we get married, and FI is 20, will be 21.
I was 21 when we got married and my husband was 22.
I'll be 24, my FI will be 25 by the time we get married. It seems very young to me, considering we're only the second couple of our friends to get married...but oh well!
FI and I are both 24, but we're pretty southern so it's somewhat normal around here.
I am 24 and my Hubby to be is 27. It seems just right to me. We have both been stable in our careers for at least 4 years now! So when the time is right go for it!
I don't know if I think 25 is young... A lot of my friends married right after graduating college at 22 (some even married during college!) so even though I'm 25, I'm far from the first one in my group to marry. Plus as far as I know 24/25 is the average age for first marriages in the US at least, so I would assume that there are a lot of people who marry younger than that...
We're both 24 right now and I'll turn 25 a week after our wedding :]
I will be 2 weeks away from my 23rd bday on my wedding day and FI will be 24 but we have been together since we were 16 & 17 years old! We feel already married!
I'm 24 and FI is 27, but given our current financial and career status, we felt it was appropriate.
i will have just turned 23 and my fi will be 22 when we get married!
I'm 20 (21 in October) and he's 19 (20 in September). I'll probably be 23 when we're married.
I'm 22 currently, but I'll be 23 when we get married. He's 34 and will be 35. We have 12 years difference between us but it doesn't feel like it until i actually write down the number 35. I just had a mini freakout, lol.
We will both be 24 when we get married. We both graduated from college 2 years ago, so we don't really feel as though we are getting married really young. We've also been together for nearly 5 years.
We got married a week ago and we're both 22... at our "big" wedding in October we will still be 22. i really haven't had anyone tell me that we're too young, probably because we have a daughter together and we've been together so long.
I'm 20, we'll both be 22 when we get married. We may be young, but we've been together for quite awhile, and after a 2 1/2 year engagement it will feel like it's more than time to get married!
I think I'm right on the cusp of your age bracket. My FI is 29 and I will be 25 when we get married, but a week afterwards I turn 26. So, I'm going to go with technically 25, but really 26. :-)
I think I got you all beat... I'm 23, and my new husband... is... 42. Yup. Not a typo. I did not get those numbers backwards.
He is the best thing that happened to me and I'm so lucky to have found a love like this at my young age. You should all be thankful of that. We are lucky ladies!! haha. :)
I don't feel like I am a "young bride". I am 23 and my FI is 33. But compared to other people my age, I feel SO much older. I've always run around with an older crowd tho b/c of my older sister! But I don't feel like a young bride or that vendors don't take me seriously b/c of my age. If you don't act like a child, they won't treat you like a child!
I married at 25, my husband was 28. Most of my friends my age have already married--or are getting married this year. I think its a southern/Texas thing.
I don't really consider myself young either. I'm 24 now, will be 25 in August, and I turn 26 a month after our wedding. FI is 26 now, and turns 27 in October. So we'll be 25 and 27 respectively on our wedding day. Most of my close friends are not married, but many people I know from high school and college are already married, so it's not that big of a deal to me.
We will both be 23 when we get married. We will be together for 7 years on June 9th!
Hubs and I were both 25 at the wedding. But we had been together 6 1/2 years and were established and financially stable. I think there is a BIG difference between 25 and 18. At 18 you're just starting college, nevermind having finished it and started you life. Everyone is different but I could never have been married during or right after college (and this from someone who was with her husband all through college). I feel like you don't really know if you can spend your life with someone until you face the real world together... college is a bubble where your parents pay your bills and you have no real responsibility to share (for me at least).
We were both 22 when we got married, but we had been together for 7 years at that point. I was about to start med school and my husband was just starting law school, so we didn't get a lot of the "too young" comments about getting married!
I think it really depends on the couple. I know some people say you need more time to live on your own, etc, but I think if you've been together a while and think marriage is right for you, it's not something to put off just because someone else has a different opinion.
I'm 24 but I will be 25 when I marry. My Fiance is 27..he's not much older than me.
am 23 and he is 25! i dont think that is really that young at all...
We're both 23 and will both be 24 when we get married. I never thought of us as being particularly young though. We've also been together for 4 years and will have been together for 5 when we get married.
Both of us are 24. We've been together since I was 15 and he was 16, so it doesn't feel like we're super young to get married for us.
Interesting piece of information... this post inspired me to look up the average age for first marriages. 26 in the US, and 33 in Canada!
Me and FI are both 22 :)
