I am so inspired of some of the stories I have read on here about Jillian Michael's, I'm picking it up tomorrow along with the Strictly Come Dancing (Dancing with the Stars in the UK) Fitness DVDs!

I've seen a lot of mention of it 'round the fitness boards; I'm surprised no one has responded to you yet! It seems like a pretty popular program :) hope you get the results you want!

My FI got me the 30 day shred a few months ago; we haven't really made it through a full 30 days straight, but we end up using it 3-4 times a week. I really like it because it is short enough that we don't have to schedule a huge chunk of time in my day to do it! Our New Year's resolution is to get through 30 full days so we can see the results more effectively! Have fun!

I did it for about 15 days and noticed a huge improvement in my arm strength and my abs. I found it got kind of boring doing the same thing every day. I intersperse it now with other workout videos for variety.

I've been doing it since October. I do it about 5 days a week. I do feel more toned, but I think I'd have to change my diet too if I wanted to see a huge difference, since I'm not far from my ideal weight to begin with. I think it's kept me from gaining as much weight as I normally do over the holidays. I love that it's such a short workout.

I did it for a week, but stopped because of finals/going home for the holidays.  Going to pick it back up on the 1st and hopefully do it for 30 days!

After hearing so much about this, I went out and bought it today and tried it.  The lady is INSANE.  I hurt so bad already, I am sure I will be sore tomorrow.  I did it with 3lb weights.  I also have the Wii fit.  I bought the Jillian Michaels 2009 and 2010 game.  The lady is just as crazy on her Wii games.  I love it!  Now, the only question for me is, can I keep doing the 30 day shred do it for 30 days.  Tomorrow is probably a day off for me shred wise. :)

Yep...Mr. Buttons and I were extremely sore after the first day, but just keep at it...because it does get easier as you keep doing it!

I am starting it tomorrow!  I made it for 2 weeks last time before quitting.  Fingers crossed that I keep up with it this year!

Ooh I'm on day 12, I just switched to Level 2 and its going great!  I really do think I look better already, if that's at all possible.  I'm so grateful to have a workout I can do in a short chunk of time indoors!  I think its really going to help me get through the winter without my customary winter bulk-up.

I'm going to give the 30DS the old college try again. I did it for a while, but I think I was just too out of shape to really do it. I'm going to try level 1 tomorrow, but if that doesn't go well (since I have bronchitis) I'll probably do a buff brides weight lifting and then do some treadmill walking.

I do it 3ish days a week.  I love it b/c the workout is short, but super-intense, so I feel like I'm getting a great workout despite only working hard for 20 minutes.

If you like the 30 Day Shred, you should try out the Biggest Loser's Last Chance Workout!  It is even harder!  Love it!

I do it sometimes on comcast on demand. I need to do it for a full 30 days but I prefer power or bikram yoga!

I just have to say, I'm on day 12 so I've only done the Level 2 workout twice but I feel like it is easier than Level 1!  I really had to try hard to keep my energy up high enough to make it through Level 1, but Level 2 seems not quite as bad.  I sweat more and you spend a million hours in plank position but the cardio doesn't quite kill as much as Level 1.  Either that or I'm getting better :)

i've been doing the 30 day shred now for 2 months straight ( i've skipped maybe 4 days ), and lemme tell ya it does work! i also do cardio 4x a week which i think is essential to really see results though. and diet is key!

i only started it because of u ladies on WB, so i hope i can light a fire under someone else. DO IT! 2x a week, 3x, 6x a week, whatever. Once you get yourself started it gets easier, i promise! :) i want to start doing her other dvds now too, the biggest loser one sounds good, @vandal!!!

    HAPPY SHREDDING!!!

I put this on my Christmas list this year and did the first workout on Saturday and man was I sore! I'm mixing this with running and keeping an eye on what I eat. Hopefully that will take care of those last 10lbs that I can never seem to lose.

@ toothfairyb - I also got bored with doing the same routine each day. So, on days I don't go to the gym, I pop in the DVD because it's a great workout and doesn't require me to go outside when it's really chilly. I'm now calling it my 30-week shred :-)

I hadn't heard of this before! The wedding is in less than 2 months and because of the holidays -- I KNEW THIS WOULD HAPPEN -- I put on some of the weight I had worked so hard to lose. This may be worth checking out! I was trying to do some of the P90X videos, but they are very long and I just don't have time to do 1-1.5 hour workouts in a day.

@krissybee... the Biggest Loser workouts are killer!  I'm very active and the last chance workout kicked my booty!  Jillian is the best!

    @happyonceagain -

Yes! They have one person in the video doing the movements most effectively, and the other girl is doing slightly modified moves that are easier. The first few days are hell, but I'm on my fourth day and it's getting easier. You really just have to press through, and your endurance goes way up.

The only recommendation I'd make if you feel you're out of shape is to use smaller hand weights. I use two 8 lb weights, and my arms definitely get shaky (all of me gets shaky!) so you might want to start with 3 lb or 5 lb weights.

@happyonceagain- definitely! It is definitely going to be hard, and you'll be sore for the first few days, but the modified versions are meant for people not in shape.  And like the PP said, use 3 or 5lb weights.  I'm on level 2, and I'm still using 3 lb weights because when I moved up to 5lb, I thought my arms were going to fall off.  The first week is the hardest because you'll be sore, but find some motivation and just push through! Good luck!

I try to mix it up by doing the levels in rotation!  I've noticed L1 has more exhausting cardio and L2 has more strength training.

Darn it, the cardio's the part I'm good at! I'm on day 7 right now. I have just gotten to the point where I can do a lot of the harder moves all the way through, so I think in two or three days I'll move onto level 2. I kind of like level level 1... it's nice knowing that I can do all of them and not feel like a failure.

Just finished day 8... wasn't even sweaty or tired by the end, so tomorrow it's level 2 for me!

I've been scared to try Level 3 but I finally did yesterday and found that for me it was a lot easier than Level 2.  I found that it was a lot of the same moves from Jillian's Boost Metabolism workout.  There are plank position things in there but not as bad as level 2.

Level 2 is crazy hard! But I made it through, and am powering through again tonight. A lot of the moves are old-school gym exercises I remember from high school, so that kind of helps. I have to say, I miss how cardio was just kind of a break on level 1... now it's actual work!
