@Take The Reins:  I’d love to go some day…but isn’t it next weekend? Or I am completely wrong! We’ll be on our road trip…actually at a NASCAR race that afternoon so I won’t get to watch 🙁

I like Union Rags A LOT to win it.  Coming off a loss will keep the odds reasonable.

Pace will be quick, and Union Rags will be flying through the stretch.

My friend was trying to talk me into going to the Derby this year, but I think I’m going to try to arrange our tables with my Mom that day instead!  We said that we could put the races on and assign each person a horse and let that determine who sat where.

We live in Louisville, so I’m looking forward to watching. The whole city is a buzz preparing for all the out of town guests and prepping the city to be in the spotlight. This is our 3rd year living here and we love “Derby Season” 🙂

@MrsEdamame:  It is exciting, but I am definitely over going out to the bars the night before Derby.  Too much craziness for me, but I might just be old haha.

@Natalieh86:  Oh yes, anywhere downtown and the Bardstown road area pubs are full of people. Most of the restaurants downtown are fully booked for dinner on Oaks and Derby, too. It is cool to have people from all over the world in our city for that weekend, though.

@Take The Reins:  You definitely have to! The whole experience is great – the parade, the festival that goes on at the riverfront… We make it a much bigger deal than just on the day of Derby Laughing. Tons of people and chaos.. but great clothes, amazing hats, so much fun!

My absolute dream is to attend the Kentucky Derby, and to just visit Kentucky in general. Though I don’t follow the horses throughout the season I try my absolute best to watch the Derby, Preakness and Belmont every year. I am a horse person after all 🙂
