haha my FI and I were JUST talking about this! I had another "ice day" today because of power outages & inclement weather, & my FI works at a pharmacy for now, & said a lot of customers came in saying they were without power, & he was glad we weren't. He said he wouldnt know what to do if the power went out.. read by candlelight? and I said "have sex?" haha. I'd believe it, though, if there was a baby boom because of this!
My sister in law works at the regional hospital's OBGYN and they have a calendar that they mark storms and other big events on and then wait to see if there's an increase. She says there usually is!
Haha, someone told me on Facebook to make use of all my time inside with my new husband.
Unfortunately, mother nature had other plans and gave me my monthly gift, LOL.
@Lindsay12.31.2010: Tell me about it! Mr. Shef kept giving me the eye today but, sorry hun! Not this week! (darn it)
I have also heard though that some ladies take some time off from TTC in March so they don't end up with a holiday baby.
We actually had a baby boom in July - 4 babies in our group of friends. That is a lot of baby showers and cute faces to kiss!!!
My brother and sister and I are all born 3 weeks apart in mid-late June, which means my mom nearly always conceived around... Labor Day? LOLLLL.
haha we had a big blizzard here last year where everything shut down for a week...sure enough, there were a few more deliveries than normal 9 months later!
Most babies are born in the fall because of this exact reason. And actually there are more babies born in September because of people getting drunk on NYE and getting pregnant!
So true! I was born 9 months after the Blizzard of 78 in the northeast
Around here it looks like the boom is going to be August/September. Typical holidays.
Me, my uncle, one of his kids, AND my baby cousin were all born in late November. A few years ago, when we were visiting my grandparents for Thanksgiving and my aunt was in the hospital in labor, I said, "Wow, our family really likes being born in November!" My dad then turned to me with a satisfied smirk and said, "...Or we just really like doing other things on Valentine's Day."
I did the math and then said "Eww." Thanks, Dad. I always wanted to know the day you and Mom boned me into existence.
HA! Hilarious!
THREE (two bridesmaids and the wife of a male guest) women concieved damn near the night of our wedding - and all are due within 10 days of each other. Two are having boys and my best friend/MOH isn't finding out. Called her today and told her to expect a 'fetus with a penis!'
So we are having a wedding baby boom - except the babies won't be ours!

I mean, seriously! We all know the best way to stay warm and busy when we are locked up indoors all week. I have a strange feeling we are going to be seeing a whole bunch of babies in November!
