I have never had them but my Dad goes twice a week and swears by them - he is almost done! HTH!
I had to have allergy shots when I was young. I would get crazy sick and they couldn't figure out what was wrong with me then finally pinpointed it as allergies. I can't remember when I stopped getting them but since I've gotten older I hardly ever get as sick as I did when I was a kid. So, I guess I would say that they worth it
I've been getting them for about 2 years now and they definitely help me. My husband will do them for about 2-3 years on, 2-3 years off, repeat cycle and it really helps him as well (he's allergic to just about everything it seems).
As I'm sure you know, if the lump doesn't go down by tomorrow you need to call your allergist and speak with his/her nurse to make sure you aren't having an adverse reaction to the injection. Also, as you continue to get the shots you can have some components not be as effective, which you may need to speak with your allergist about. After about a year we changed my mix to up certain pollens/dusts so they didn't wear off as quickly. In the mean time, I'm all for using a benadryl cream to keep the itching to a minimum and reduce swelling.
Can you get allergy shots to help with cat allergies? Boy really wants a cat but I am SO allergic!
KMSull, yes, that's one of the most common injections!!
It's a kind of long process, weekly shots for about six months, but after that if you keep up with maintenance (Shots about once a month), your allergies can virtually disappear!
Yay, that's good to hear!! Success stories are the best!
I know 2 people who have been uber sucessful with it! But then my dad did it for years and it never made a dent.

I just sneezed four times in a row and have a lump the size of an egg on my arm from my Grass allergy injection today. What other bees out there can feel my pain? I'm about a month and a half away from moving from weekly injections to bi-weekly.. I can't wait!! Did allergy shots work for you?? I get four injections once a week and am really hoping this will help my allergies in the long run.. Just curious! PS - The shots never started to hurt until recently!!! *Whine*
