Yay, we are going on some trips soon! Unfortunately, my husband works ridiculously long hours in the summer, so all of our trips and traveling have to be scheduled for the fall/winter months.
In Ocotber we're going to this historic town in Nevada for the weekend of Halloween (which is also Nevada Day!). In November we're going to Denver and Wyoming to visit his parents; in January we are traveling down to the Bay area to watch one of our best friends compete in a roller derby match... and next December is the biggest trip of all... Peru! I'm so excited, even though it's like a year and a half out. We're staying in an authentic hut in the Amazon for one week, and then doing the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu! It's gonna be awesome!!!
We're gonna try to pencil in several things this summer. One trip to the beach for 5 days..one trip to see my family (grandparent's anniversary) and hang with them on the lake, and another possibly to orlando.
Because I have so few vacation hours (fairly new at my job), most of my time is being saved for the wedding/honeymoon. But we're going to take a four day trip to a lake for Fourth of July, nice little mini-vacation.
Well because we just moved to the West Coast... the summer is, for all intents and purposes, one big vacation! I'm so excited about all the fun things we will get to do like going to Monterey, Napa, Yosemite and just random trips into SF! Other than that, no big plans!
My whole family (plus a guest each for me and my sisters) were suppose to go to Gatlinburg in July but due to the economy we had to cancel the trip. So sad! But now my family and me and Mr.Tal are all going to Gettysburg for four days! I'm really excited (I'm a history major!!!), almost more excited than when we were going to Gatlinburg. (We've been before) I can't wait, it's the week before my birthday, so it's almost like a birthday treat for me!
YES!! We're going to the Outer Banks in NC (Corolla, to be exact). There are about 17 of us (4 little ones included) that go. We rent a huge house that is about a 2 minute walk to the beach. It is the best week ever, seriously. We spend our mornings on the beach, afternoons at the pool, and nights playing fun games at the house. This might be the last time FI and I get to go, at least for a year or two, because of our wedding next May. I cannot WAIT for August!!
We are going to Spain and Ireland for 10 days. It should be an amazing and much needed break!
Aww EAQ219 we used to always go to OBX, and rent a huge house and hang around. its sooo awesome. Now that my siblings are all grown up and spread around its too hard to coordinate... maybe when we all have kids we'll start the tradition again :) Take the little ones to play on the sand dunes for me!
Mr.Rain's family is talking about having a family vacay at the end of August in the Boston/Maine area. Would be a GREAT opportunity to do some more bonding with them! Plus, I haven't really had a vacation in ages. I always end up using my time off to do things like MOVE or sleep or entertain family.

No because we have to save our days off for the honeymoon. I will be making some weekend business trips though so I am hoping that Mr. Ducky will tag along and we can have a mini getaway.

I'm leaving tomorrow for Outer Banks with FI and his family. I can't wait. I just graduated from school, and I really need a nice, relaxing vacation.
I'm very fortunate that I travel for work so my trips are basically paid for. All FI has to pay for is a plane ticket. Between now and December I am going to New Orleans, New Jersey, London, Kentucky, San Francisco, and Buenos Aires.
Yes! I'm going with two girl friends (two of my bridesmaids, in fact) to Arizona for a long weekend next weekend! I heard it will be 100 degrees, and while I'm not really a hot-weather person, it will be nice to get away from the cold rainyness that is NYC right now!
I love the FL panhandle! Gorgeous beaches, fabulous sunsets, and this is where I used to go as a young girl with my family too.
My mom's also coming to visit this summer for a few days (staycation) and then we're gonna go visit my sis and bil (for the anniversary of my grandparents) and hang out..
Hopefully we'll get to do a mini vacay to either Orlando or Savannah. Just for a few days.
I'm unemployed and my fiance is saving his vacation time for the wedding/honeymoon so we aren't going to be vacationing. We are going to try to get a couple of weekend camping trips in though.
That IS a great vacation idea! Camping! If you're gone..not at work..having some semblance of fun, imho that IS a vacation!!! :P
We dont have a huge trip planned because we have a wedding in July, August and 2 in October, but we are going to take 2 days and go to the Gilroy Garlic Festival in Gilroy, CA. So excited, we love garlic! We will be going with the FSIL and her FI and staying the night and going to the festival over the weekend. Garlic ice cream? I dont know but I might as well try it. Definetly the scampi, garlic bread, garlic frieds, etc....mmmmm.....

In July I will go to Lake Tahoe for the first time with friends - can't wait!
These are not summer but I'm still super excited:
In October I will rent a convertible and drive from L.A. to Scottsdale to surpise my Dad for his 60th birthday.
In November I will visit my Mom in NY for Thanksgiving.
Can't wait, I love to travel!

We're having a long weekend of canoe camping... and that's about it thanks to a new nephew coming late summer and a close friend getting hitched 10 hours away at the end of this month!
I just booked a flight out to LA to visit my friend. She lives in Santa Monica and I can't wait to lie on the beach! FI and I are also spending a week on Cape Cod in August, once again, lounging on the beach!

Woo hoo we are!!! Again. This time it will be a great trip (I've been here before and love it!! and a bit closer to home) We're going to the Portofino in Pensacola (my fave condo resort) at the end of July! Will be all 3 of us!! T, me, and my son~apparently they even have a new water park there also and a ferry that can shuttle you to the pier area near the restaurants!
So..anybody got NON wedding vacay plans?
