I know this has been discussed and re-discussed but a lot of it was negative. I am trying REALLY hard to work with them for my bridesmaid dresses and may have to go back in for a crinoline or petticoat. I had a horrible experience basically every time I even walked by the store so if you have a positive experience, I’d love to hear it!! Change my mind please .

Sorry, dude. Can’t help you. I went in for my dress and again for my girls… no good either time. I have heard that the BM dresses work out alright, though. You should be fine. Just don’t let them give you any crap. Demand good service.

I wanted to get my BM’s dresses there but I’m terrified =( I will definitely keep an eye on this board to change my mind as well.

I’ve had very good luck there, all the people I have worked with have been nice and very friendly and helpful. One of my bridesmaids is pregnant, and they were very helpful with picking out a style dress that would work for her, and she felt comfortable in and that wasn’t too different from my chosen BM dresses. I got my dress there and all my bridesmaids dresses there as well, my only complaint is the cost of alterations, but those sound like they can be expensive anywhere.

My best salon experiences so far have been there! It depends on who you deal with.

I have purchased bridesmaids dresses there for three different weddings and have never had a problem. I’m thinking about using them for my bridesmaid dresses too, because they are reasonable and do offer a good selection (I’m having them pick a dress in a certain color). Also it’s convenient for out of towners, since there is one just about everywhere.

I had an okay experience when I was a bridesmaid, because I was able to walk in and buy my dress right off the rack. I had a friend do the altering for me. The other bridesmaids had a lot of trouble, and I know the bride purchased purses to be our bridesmaid gifts and had a heck of a time getting them all, (they needed to get some from another store because they didn’t have enough in stock and it was a bit of a struggle).
The other time I ordered from them I ordered a clearance BM dress from the internet to use for formal night on our honeymoon cruise, and had no issues, but I don’t know if that counts since it was an online purchase.
I have heard good things and bad, but it seems to be mostly bad. On the plus side, there do seem to be certain locations that have better customer service than others…is it possible for you to try another location and see if you have better luck?

Although I didn’t purchase my wedding dress or bridesmaid dresses from DB, I had very good experiences both of the times I was there. The two consultants that worked with me were really nice and that pretty much made the experience. Come to think of it, those were probably some of the nicer wedding clothing experiences I had.

Thank you for the feedback everyone, would love to hear more experiences.
I think it may be my area maybe but it seems everyone in a sales position is rude!
I am so laid-back and don’t require much when it comes to customer service but shoving me into ill-fitting (she put me in a size 20 and I am a size 14) dresses that were NOTHING that I asked for (I said A-line no poof, she put me in a full ball gown) and then pressuring me to make a quick purchase is the perfect way to keep your not-so-stellar reputation. I think the reason I keep going back is because we live in the boonies and don’t have ANY other choices.
@Miss Apricot: the closest location is about 2 hours away in the dalls/fort worth area which is possible, but a little inconvenient.

I’ve bad good and bad experiences (as a bridesmaid). It really does depend on the location and the consultant you get, as the PPs said. I dismissed them for my bridesmaids initially but I might reconsider as they’re just SO convenient.

@Mrs.ChubbyBunny: I think DB is really hit or miss, and 90% of it depends on the consultant. My first time I had a FABULOUS gal who was just amazing and sweet and so excited and helpful. I ended up finding my dress elsewhere, but I did choose them for my bridesmaids dresses. The other 2 times I’ve been in there, the girls were not helpful (at all) but I knew what I wanted so I just took care of business myself.
I’d really suggest checking online for the styles you’re interested in using, have the #s written down (and even a photo print out if you’re really determined) and know what you’re going in looking for. Then, if your consultant is helpful, you can get in and out right away. And if you get a bad apple, you can navigate the store yourself. I brought my camera to get photos of the girls in their favorite dresses, and then took a photo of the tag so I had the exact info I’d need incase the store messed up on an order.

Because of where I live, the only decent bridal shop I have to choose from is David’s Bridal. I haven’t been yet, but I know lots of people who have gone. Most of them had great experiences. Honestly, if I had the option of going somewhere else other than David’s Bridal, I’d probably go there. I’m plus sized, and I’ve heard from a few people that the consultants didn’t really want to work with them and selected only one or two dresses for them to try on. One bride said that her salesperson was much nicer to her thin MOH than she was to her… So, while my average sized friends have had good experiences, I’m a little worried.

@ SouthernGirl: I consider myself somewhat plus-sized since I am very curvy. My consultant was much more plus-sized than I was and she was still rude when I didn’t like anything she picked so I don’t know if it was related to that in my specific case. I don’t know if it has to do with size or not but that’s a shame that you wouldn’t get the same treatment as someone who was thinner!! I think in a way DB is a blessing because let’s face it, most designers think everything over a size 6 is morbidly obese. DB actually has a selection for brides with a little junk in their trunk haha. I wish you luck if you decide to venture into the DB jungle.

@ NDBee: having the numbers ready and taking photos of the tag is ingenious. If I decide to go with a DB dress, I will DEF be doing that and then running out of there as fast as possible.

I’ve been in at least 5 times for My dresses (yes, I fell in love with a 2nd one), BM dresses (2 trips), and my Mom’s dress. I believe we worked with 2 different consultants and they were both great. The biggest problem was having enough dressing rooms for 6 BMs, but we made it work.
These are also not including the 1 good experience finding my sister’s wedding dress 4 years ago, and 1 not so good experience for the BM dresses for her wedding. But the not-so-good experience was partly because we didn’t have an appointment, so again had problems finding dressing rooms for our large group.
Overall, I’d say the Bridal experience seems to go very well, but they’re not quite as accomodating for BMs. My advice is to go on a weeknight since they’re less busy.
