Anybody have a Palm Pre?

I hear lots of talk about the Iphone but not much about the Palm Pre. When I was still with AT&T, I had a Palm Centro and loved it. Now I'm with Sprint and in November when fiance's contract is up, he wants to get a Palm Pre (he has the Centro) and I may get one too.

Anybody have one? Is it better or worse than an Iphone? I can't switch back to AT&T-I get lousy reception with them out here in the middle on nowhere but pretty good reception with Sprint.

My sister has one and I'm obsessed with it! I want one so badly! They are pretty awesome - I can't necessarily say if they're better or worse than the iPhone 'cause I've never had either, but I think the Pre is very cool and has most of the same features as the iPhone.

The Pre is an awesome phone, my neighbor just bought one.  I like that it has full-time streaming internet, and that you can run multiple applications all at one time.  The downside is that he got told by the sprint people that, they have had a few returned because the screen became unresponsive.  So, I think that they are still working the bugs out on that.  Also, currently there are only around 15 apps to download on the release day for the Pre.  Compared to the hundreds of apps for the iphone.

Hehe, it's a pretty cool phone in its capabilities; however, if you are used to the iPhone or iPod touch, I have to say it 'feels' more cheaply made in your hand and Sprint...welll..eh.

Plus, Palm Pre girl is creepy...

But I think it makes it more memorable...wow, I am pretty bi-polar in my emotions about this phone.

I agree, the Palm Pre girl is creepy! As for Sprint, my fiance has been with them for two years and I have been with them for 4 months. Neither of us has had any problems and they offer the best signal service in our area. When I was with AT&T, every single call I made from our house was dropped. I have yet to drop a call with Sprint.

I haven't actually held one yet but I really like the looks of it.

I love my Pre! Got mine in the beginning of July... SO glad I upgraded. I've been with Sprint for ages, but started toying with the idea of an iPhone. However, once I compared the package pricing? No way. Sorry... I just couldn't bring myself to switch to AT&T. But with the arrival of the Pre, I don't need to.

Granted, the iPhone does have a lot more apps... it's been around longer, Pre is still building their app store. But really, a lot of the iPhone apps are just toys. Cool and fun... but I want my phone for talking, text, email, web browsing, navigation... Pre fits the bill. With all the fun options like music, pictures, and messaging, etc.

Oh! And I'm a big fan of the keyboard. A lot easier for text and email. The only thing I didn't like was not being able to crook it comfortably on my shoulder, which I could do with my previous flip phone. Oh well, not like I could do that with an iPhone, either. It works fine with a hands free.

If you want to stay with Sprint, but are looking for a 'smart phone'... I think you'd love the Pre!
