I do and I hate them! My whole wedding has been planned around them. I definitely can’t do an e-photo shoot with them on, which means if we want to send out Save-The-Date Cards with our pics we have to wait.
I honestly haven’t taken but 1 or 2 pics since I got them on last August and the ones I have taken, I hate!
They come off in another 2-6 months and I am hoping for sooner than later!!

I don’t have them now, but had them when I was younger…. you will not regret it! Just hang in there and think you’ll have perfectly straight teeth for the wedding.
I used to just try to do a closed mouth smile 🙂

LOL! I really really try and do the closed smile, but it is pretty ridiculous. I just look goofy with the closed smile. And to top it off, I don’t even know how to do the whole sexy, closed lip thing either. I have always been a ‘show your teeth’ type of smile and anything else looks really unnatural on me.
I guess I’m the only older bride on here with braces! I wish my mom would’ve made me get braces when I was younger, but I guess my teeth weren’t messed up enough…

I had braces, spent 2.5 years with them on! When I got them off, they incorrectly made my bottom retainer. I wore my retainers 24/7 and was in so much pain, then I noticed my bottom teeth had shifted. When they tried to fix it with a spring form retainer, my teeth were too far gone 🙁 So while they’re straighter than what they were, they aren’t perfect like I had them! Maybe eventually I’ll get them again.

Whoa whoa whoa. I just got mine off in December! I got engaged December 1st and have NO pics from it, bc I was like “eh, I have braces on, so forget it.” Then I got my braces off two weeks later.
They will be off soon and then you will be so happy! Whiten them up and take a million pics.
Also, sometimes orthodontists will tighten them more frequently or do a faster treatment/tightening regimen if they know you have an event. Have you asked them about that?

Dude i had braces for SIX YEARS. You will be SO HAPPY when you get them off. Just hang in there! And you may want to think about getting your teeth whitened after. Mine were pretty dingy afterwards. I still have some permanent weird staining where the glue was on my toofers.
Anyways, hang in there!!!!!!!

I do! I am not anywhere near engaged yet, but I still feel your pain! I hate having pictures taken, and I even have the ceramic ones. My dentist kept telling me I didn’t need braces but eventually my bite progressed to where I did, so I got them when I was 19. Luckily, mine come off in two days yay! Good luck with yours- hopefully they will be off soon, and your teeth will definitely be so gorgeous for your wedding!

i had them in high school but i understand what you’re going through. i didn’t mind mine though. i mean, with braces AND glasses, i wasn’t going to worry about it. lol.
but they’ll be off before you know it! i got mine off the week of prom and when my ortho told me, i jumped out the chair and hugged him.

It’s funny you mentioned this because I just posted a thread yesterday about a a photog’s snarky comments on my braces. Basically, I was looking for a photog to do our e-pics and one of the first comments she said (without me even bringing this up) was…
“Don’t you think we should shoot the pics when you get your braces off?”.
She was even trying to get me to talk my orthodontist to get them off for the day and put them back on!
I have been wearing metal braces for a bit more than 4 years…or is it 5? It has dragged out this long because I moved around a lot and had to keep changing orthodontists.
But for me I’m ok with them, they have become a part of my life and have shown up in every photo in the pst 5 years. The whole time I dated my SO was with braces so seeing them off will definitely be something new:)
I agree with you that closed lip seems unnatural…just show off your braces or photoshop them off? Either way best of luck! I’m sure your e-pics we be great!
