I was looking at getting into bookbinding because I suck at scrapbooking. :( If you haven't already, you might ask around at some local craft stores. A place about 2 hours from me does classes, but it's a little to far me to drive once a week. Also, these websites might not be the kind of bookbinding that you are looking for, but they might be a place to start.

P.S. The last link is to the Hand Bookbinders of California website. I found out about the classes near me by emailing them and expressing some interest in getting into hand bookbinding. They had a lot of great resources, and may be able to help you even if you're not in CA.
Thank you! It looks like a fun project, but I have never done it before, so I have a lot to learn!
I took a class on bookbinding at the Paper Source a few years back. It was very small and personalized, and definitely did not cost over $40. It's a really fun project, but I definitely recommend taking a class to gain expertise in the area. Have fun!
You should email my sister Talia. She has just gotten her degree in book-making and print arts. She made my wedding invites and also has hand-made tons of different types of books. Her contact info is on her website, www.flockofgoose.com. I'm sure she can help you out in terms of where to get supplies, books, etc.

I am trying to learn how to bind books by hand using those metal screwposts. I am Googling, and I found a class on how to bind books at home, but tuition is $380!
Have any of you crafty bees bound your own books and have advice to share? (where to buy supplies, advice?) Thanks, ladies!
