I have recently gotten a job where I work outside of the home, after working from home as a blogger but my Fiance still works from home as a storyboard artist.
Although, I always hate leaving in the morning, I do love the perks! For example, he always has dinner ready for me when I come home.
Anyone else in my situation? What do you and your SO do for a living?

We were in the same position. I’m a lawyer and go into the office every day. Fiance is an architect/project manager and worked from home when not traveling. In the last month, though, he has quit his job and has become a full-time “house husband”. I love it!!

Yup, I work in a typical office. Darling Husband is a software developer and works from home full-time. I actually don’t mind working in an office, I don’t think I would do well working from home. I do wish Darling Husband would have dinner ready (or at least started!) by the time I get home though… That’s awesome that your SO does that!

We’re the opposite. I work from home, and he works out of the house.
I recently applied for a job that will get me out of the house… which I really hope I get, even though I’m going to feel like the worst dog-mom ever!

We’re starting this tomorrow (was supposed to be today, but the snow delayed my first day.) It’s funny because I used to be able to work from home sometimes at my old job and my husband was in the office everyday, then when we moved my husband started working mostly from home and I wasn’t working. So we’re kind of switching roles. He also travels a lot so he has weeks where he’s gone most days.

@alysee: I work at an office and Darling Husband works from home (he owns his company). I wish Darling Husband had supper ready when I came home!!! I have 3 offices that I rotate between, one is 10 minutes from home, one is 20 minutes from home, and one is 45 minutes away.
We have finally settled that the days I am at my furthest away office, if he is at home, he will make supper. I dont know why we didnt do that from the beginning?

@MissSemi: Hey you found a job?? Congrats! I just started a new job on Tuesday, then had yesterday and today off due to the weather LOL!

Oh man I would love it if Darling Husband had dinner ready when I got home! He works from home and I work in an office 8-5 M-F.
Our agreement is he does all the cleaning in the house and I cook and do the dishes. It may seem unfair since he only cleans every couple days while I cook and do the dishes almost everyday, but I think it’s a pretty decent trade since I absolutely hate cleaning the bathrooms! It’s just really annoying sometimes when I get home from work and immediately have to start cooking while he gets to lounge around because he cleaned the other day. -_-

@TLDR: Although he cooks every night, I do the dishes, laundry and bathroom. His areas are kitchen, livingroom and bedroom. Although, it doesn’t seem fair, we still trade off on the weeks he’s super busy with a deadline, since I get to leave my work at work, I’ll pitch in to clean those areas.

Fiance and I have the opposite arrangement. We are both teachers, but I teach at a cyber school. I do have a “teaching office” that I go to for work a few days a week, but then I work from home the other two or three days a week. It’s a great arrangement because on the days I work from home, I’m able to stay with our dog instead of taking him to (and paying for!!) doggie daycare. It’s also really convenient to work from home when the weather is bad or when I need to flex my hours for a doctor’s appointment, and I’m able to get a jumpstart on dinner those days too!
While it is very convenient, I have to admit that I actually get kind of sick of being at home and sitting all day long in front of a computer. I am preparing to apply for teaching jobs at some local schools and hoping that I can finally get my own classroom for next school year!
