<span class=”Apple-style-span” style=”font-family: arial; font-size: 12px”>Hi! I’m new to blogger and am wondering how everyone else organizes
the pictures they find on the web and the source link of that
picture. For example, say I want to write a post about shopping for a
bathing suit. I find 10 bathing suits that I like on 10 different
websites. This is where I’m not sure what the easiest thing to do
A) right click, save image to "blog pictures" folder on desktop, use
Picasa to add pictures to blog. I want to be able to add a "source"
link under each picture. My problem here is, how do know the source
URL of each picture without opening up 10 different websites and
copying and pasting each URL while I’m writing the post and making the
B) add each picture by the specific URL of the picture without saving
it onto my desktop first. This seems a little sketchy and I don’t
want to get in trouble by stealing other people’s bandwidth.
The logistics of this is getting me all confused. Please help. How
does everyone out there organize pictures that they find off of the
If anyone out there can help, please PM me!

I’ve done two things.
I’ve uploaded to my flickr account and and then pasted the url source where the picture can be found in the description/comments. That way I’ve got the citation when I post (and yes, you have to copy/paste each source)
I’ve also just saved the webpages and favorites and matched the name with the photo name. (for example: if I find an inpiration for BM dresses, I’ll save the photo and call it BMdress1 and then I’ll save the link in my favorite and call it BMdress1.) Once I post, I delete my favorites!
It’s not a seamless process, but worth it for copyright and courtesy reasons. I’d be interested to hear about other peoples’ ways of blogging photos that need to be cited!

I found it easiest to:
Just use the "Upload Files from your Computer" feature under the Leave A Comment Box and they usually will post really easily! It’s better then using the photo icon in the Leave A Comment toolbar!

See…Example! All I did was save the image to my desktop then "browsed" for it under the "Upload Files from your Computer" feature that is below the "Leave A Comment" box. And wala! It appears!

thanks for the help! LatteLove – I’ll try that approach. But don’t you feel as though there should be an easier way to cite internet found pictures on your blog? I just think I’m missing something…

mpacif – you can’t right click on the picture and save it to yourdesktop? Then just upload the picture in the "Upload Files from yourComputer". By uploading it you picture will automatically appear inyour post!

@ TennisSLM5: I think what mpacif is primarily wondering about is how to easily and conveniently cite photos she uploads (onto blogger, not WB).
@mpacif: To be perfectly honest, I don’t know of any other modes of doing it…but I hope someone else replies to this thread. I’m going to see if mrbee can change the tital of this thread so people will more readily read and comment…something like, "What is the best way to store photo links for citing?" I’ll let you know!

Ooo ok that makes sense then! I was like its so much easier to just upload from your desktop! Its like 2 clicks and it works! haha

I’ve found it easiest to keep a tumblr account.. I have a button on my taskbar thing that says “Add to Tumblr” and it posts a picture/quote/video/whatever you want to a central tumblr page (like mine) where it keeps the link and picture together. You can put tags on your pictures so that you can search through them easier. That way, when you get to actually writing a post, you have all the pictures and links together in one place.
