I am I am!!! Its so nice to find someone with the exact same date as me! That weekend is a long weekend here in the UK, so a Sunday fits well as people get a day either side for travel/wedding fun!

I've been engaged since sept 24th so about 4 1/2 months.
I have my venues, my dress and my wedding planner...
she'll handle all the rest haha. i own a design business back on Hawai'i so it was a no brainer knowing I was going to need to hire help.
I'm so excited that someone shares my date!

OMG!! We got engaged September 24th as well. but our dat is August 27th!! 
Me, Me!! Yay brides with the same day as ours. We've been engaged since May 2010 but we have been together for 10 years. We had a few weird looks about it being on a Sunday but I simply explained that the day doesn't matter and the important people will be there. Lol that usually stops that conversation.
i personally love Sundays. Its the day my fiancé and i relax the most. Usually surf or walk by the beach and enjoy long mornings.

What do you ladies have done so far?
Ive actually done qute a bit, but weve been engaged since August 2009!
The biggest thing on my list to sort out is getting out my save the dates for the locals and getting the invitest stuffed and ready to send out in may/june.
Otherwise I have a ton of details to decide on and sort out- guestbook, some accessories, some decorations, favours etc and also some DIY projects to get on with- and actually DO, not just plan to do :-)
What big things have you guys got left? What colours/themes are you ladies doing? Ours is mostly navy, whte and green, with little bits of yellow- all very natural colours and textures etc.
Trying to get my save the dates out this week. Waiting on my parents address.
I still have a lot of details left too. I even forgot about the guestbook 0_0
My colors are navy too! Navy, blush pinks,ivory and black. I really hope those colors all come together well! Your colors sound fresh and light :D
We've done alot but we still have so much left to do... My save the dates are all put together and they just need to be addressed and mailed out. We have 2 bridesmaid newsletters sent out, photographer, videographer, decorator, bakery, tux picked, bridesmaid & hostess dress picked, part of the DIY flowers finished and most of the centerpieces. I am trying to get as much accomplished now so I can get started on this slideshow and the first dance.
Colors are turquouise, silver, with hints of yellow, black and white. My dress just came back in so I will be picking it up tomorrow. I'm so excited.
i'm august 28th, 2011 too!! yay!!
my girls dresses are navy, and we are doing olive and lime green and orange as accent colors.
time is going by sooooo fast!! it'll be here before you know it...
@jem415: I know we all just past out 200 mark and are now onto the one hundreds. 199 I believe.
and SO MANY NAVY WEDDINGS! I Cannot wait to see when things sart coming together.. lets do a really good job of keeping this thread alive with updates :)

Just curious- when are you all sending out invitations?
I sent out STD's at the beginning of the month (feb). I was thinking May for invites, but is that too early? I just want RSVP's back ASAP! :-P

I was just about to post asking about invitations and RSVP due dates!! We sent our Save the Dates at the beginning of January. We have a lot of OOT guests, and with it being Sunday, we wanted to make sure everyone has plenty of time to figure out travel arrangements.
For invites-- I am toying with the 3-month mark (May 28th) or the first week in June. The RSVP due date is confusing me!! I don't want to make it too early to have people go and forget, but the fiance keeps saying we need to make it earlier for those slow, lazy people. He wants to put July 15th, I am saying July 20th. I know it's only a 5 day difference, but which do you think? The earliest thing we need to have to our caterer/venue is 2 weeks prior, but we our doing a lot of DIY stuff, so want time to do favors, placecards, make sure we order the right number of tablecloths, etc. We also are supposed to have an "estimate" to the caterer 30 days in advance, but don't need the final count til 4 days out. Confusing!

We just got finished dropping the last of the Save the Dates in the mail at the end of Feb.
We said we were going to send out invitations by mid-June and give everyone until the 10th of August to get them back to us so we can finalize with the vendors. That and we have close friends we are getting married at the beginning of June and we are both in the wedding so things will get hectic.

thought i'd share my planning update here with you guys--
we are going this weekend to visit the fiance's parents/meet with vendors (getting married where they live).
we are meeting with 1 of our officiants (Catholic Deacon-- we are having a Rabbi too), hopefully that won't be too stressful!!! (epecially for my fiance, he's the Jewish one)
we are meeting with a limo company to see the vehicles. Hopefully they will be perfect and we'll book them considering I have read nothing but good reviews, and they were the best quote (SUNDAY DISCOUNT!!, other companies were like, of course we dont give a sunday discount...why would we do that...)
AND- TRYING ON MY DRESS FOR THE FIRST TIME!!!! (it better fit....) Well, I know it will need alterations so it's not going to fit, and they don't start alterations til like, 1.5 months out. But it just better not be too tight :)

I am putting a hold on all wedding plans so I can really focus on my business. However, JUNE is going to be a month of wedding planning craziness!
I'm going to be doing everything besides getting the venues, photographer and wedding planner all in june! Am I crazy? haha.
@Lilubird:how crazy you are depends on how big your wedding is and where it is being held!
At this point, I have EVERYTHING done (just booked the last thing a few days ago-- limo) and all we have left to do is details with our already booked vendors (menu choices, music choices, itinerary, etc)
@jem415: Hey there! Our reply date is June 15th! I figure that gives us enough time to chanse up all the lazy people who dont reply :-) Although im hoping that wont be necessary!
Almost! I'm an August 29th-er here. We're bringing FIs family out to Hawaii so we figured since people are vacation already, they wouldn't mind the Monday wedding. But, I guess since Hawaii's already a big destination spot we're not finding crazy great deals on venues :(
I love the idea of a Sunday wedding! And I totally agree, Sundays are the best days of the week for us too...just to relax and spend some much needed time together.

Im an Aug 28ther too and a lot of people thought I was crazy because its a Sunday.....but I got to negotiate great deals plus its a destination wedding in Europe so most people will be there on holidays anyways....Sunday....MEH!
We skipped the STD and went right to the invites to give people ample time to plan their trips and so far everyone is a Yes! I am most excited about our gorgeous venue and cant wait to see it all decorated....an old villa that has been transformed into a restaurant, surrounded by old lush trees.....SOOOOO excited! Congrats to you all!!
Ps- Its my moms birthday too so we are surprising her at the reception with birthday cake
We're August 27th, but there isn't a thread for that day so i'm gonna crash yours ;)
I still have SO much to do... We've got the major things booked but we're still discussing a bunch of slightly less important things. Our invitations just shipped today, so I'll be able to address them and pretty them up when they get here.
We just ordered our invitations last week hopefully they come in soon. So excited because it's getting so close. Under 100 days now won't be long.
