Anyone asked their FI kind of wedding dress "he" pictures you wearing?

I have, and I actually picked a style he said he doesn’t like – but it looked the best and I feel great in it! So I know he’ll like it on me.

After I had bought the dress, we were out at dinner and starting talking about the dress … He showed me pictures of dresses he thought I’d pick and they were SO off the mark. He was showing me pictures of ballgowns and I chose a subtle trumpet. I’m looking forward to surprising him 🙂

Yup, I did. He really wants my hair to be up. I’m still deciding.

He refuses to tell me what he pictures!!! He’s afraid he’ll hurt my feelings or make me second guess my decision.  I may have to make him write it down & put it in a sealed envelope because I’m just so curious 😉

Yes I have! He likes: a-lines, slim ballgowns, some beading on the top, sweetheart neckline, empire waist or natural waist, traditional colours – white or ivory. He doesn’t like splashes of other colours in the dress, isn’t keen on lace, definitely doesn’t like mermaid or fit and flare, sash belt, patterned bottom, coloured wedding gowns, wedding gowns with huge pouffy skirts (he thought the one dress I have tried on – Alfred Angelo Belle 206 – was too big in the skirt), or drop waist.

I will definitely take his opinion into consideration, but I am sure he will love whatever I am in, even if I have some lace on my dress! I asked him to go through a site of wedding dresses, and pick one he would choose for me, and I picked one. They were slightly different, but only slightly. His only had one issue for me: rouching that pulled it to one side so it had uneven lines on the dress – wider ones on one side that started at the bottom, and on the other side very thin lines that were just at the waist. Didn’t like that, but the rest was great!

Yes! He looked on my Pinterest and said the first dress above was his favorite dress on my boards.

I ended up with second dress… Not the exact same, not the opposite. Hope he likes it!

Ahh yes! He sees me in a mermaid, fit n flare, or anything else that will show off my figure he says. He also wanted something with straps as he thinks strapless is overused and plain. I ended up buying a strapless ball gown, woops. I hope I give him a very pleasant surprise!

I have. His reply: “I have no effin’ idea, because I have no clue what Pakistani brides look like”.

I love my non-Pakistani FI 😀

I did and shouldn’t have as I stressed about making him happy.  When I asked him to describe my dress 2 weeks after the wedding (a wedding bee post question) he couldn’t.  I did get what I wanted but it was kinda funny how he was pretty opinionated before the weddig but when it came down to it he could care less.  He said I was beautiful and that is all that matters.  I guess it is what can be expected from a man. 😉

I didn’t ask outright, but from little comments he’s made here and there I think he would say he prefers form fitted, straight necklines with straps…. I bought a strapless sweetheart ballgown hahah whoops!

I did ask how he would my hair and he said he’d pictured me with it up.  I gave that some thought for about a week and finally told him I really wanted to wear my hair down for the wedding, so basically I’ll be the complete opposite of everything he’s pictured hahah at least it’ll be a surprise!

@SamanthaLovesJames:  Yes, he wanted zero poof and I got something SLIGHTLY poofy. I think once he sees it on me and knows were getting married it won’t matter what I’m wearing. Although it did heavily influence what I chose to try on (no ballgowns) and I feel sad I never got to have a poofy princess feeling!
