Went to a wedding at Bear Mountain, not sure if it was the “Inn”….we stayed in slightly rustic cabins w/ fireplaces in the foyers, and the reception was held in a room w/ a merry-go-round in the middle.  One of the best weddings I’ve ever been too, it was more casual and just plain old fun.

I recently came upon Bear Mountain Inn as well and am also considering it as a potential venue!  I can’t seem to find much information on the Inn either, especially about when the renovations are going to be finished.. they had planned to open up the first floor of the Inn in May 2010 – but it seems like that never happened. Currently, their weddings are being hosted in the Overlook Lodge, but I think I would really prefer the Inn…  I did find one person’s comment on Chow who thought the food was great, but that’s not much to go by…

@thesejoys:

@Nora262: My fiance and I just went to the Overlook Lodge this morning to check it out as a possible reception location. Any information on how it was, the food, etc would be great because I can’t find a thing either! Also I’d love to see photos and how the entire room was decorated…it’s just a plain reception room to start with!

Thanks!

@Ekh886: I visited the Overlook Lodge at Bear Mountain over Labor Day weekend and they were actually set up for a wedding.  Here are some pictures that I took of the ceremony patio and the reception room:

Also, you can check out their Facebook page for more photos of weddings at the Overlook Lodge. Hope this helps!

Sadly, I learned that the Main Inn at Bear Mountain will remain closed – likely ’til the end of 2011 🙁

@Violet Violet: oh, they still have accomodations at Bear Mountain (in the Overlook Lodge and the Stone Cottages), just not at the Main Inn since it’s closed. so I wonder why they wouldn’t let you book a room block….
