You need to narrow it down a bit more. Do you have any idea what part of Costa Rica you are interested in visiting? Or what type of holiday you had in mind i.e beach vs adventure. There are lots of nice places dotted all over. I went to Quepos last month and had a wonderful time.
Well I guess we're trying to get the best of both worlds. Be near the beach, but still get out a bit to visit.
We were set to participate in an organized cycling tour, but the dates are not good for us, so we're looking into other options. The tour would have taked us to the beach and up the volcano...
We're not crazy about big cities, we like nature and adventure as well as quiet time.
Search for Costa Rica threads...there are a ton of them on here. I stayed in Arenal and Tamarindo on my honeymoon. I've posted about it before, but PM me if you'd like more info. I LOVED Costa Rica!!!
my friends went there for their honeymoon and they loved it! i remember they went ziplining and had a blast...
I went in 2006. It was FANTASTIC. We started out in San Jose (this was on a Spanish club trip in HS) for a home stay, then went to Arenal (check out the hot springs at Tabacon--they're awesome), and hit up Playa Jaco our last couple of days there. Ziplining is a must. It scared the bejeezus out of me, but it was amazing!

We're looking to go around Christmas time and I'm searching for a nice place to stay. Any suggestions?
