That’s our venue!

We just booked them for our wedding 10/12/13. It’s a very traditional space, and elegant. We also liked that it was very private. And the menu options were fantastic. We met with Mary when we toured the space. She’s great!

We are very excited about the space. Hope you like it

Nice space.  The rooms  are a bit small and dark but it has a charming atmosphere.  Are you looking for the ceremony/reception to both be here?  The wedding I shot here flipped the room adn it was super tight.  The staff here is very, very nice!

@susanstripling:  What do you mean by “tight”? Time-wise? or Space-wise?

Thanks!

(We just booked TDC, so I’m naturally curious)

Hey Reeniero!  The wedding and reception were in the same room and so to have the tables already decorated in the space they had to partition off part of that room during the ceremony (if that makes sense).  I think there might have been a few too many guests for the space because it ended up being a bit cramped during the ceremony but was perfect during the reception.

That said it was a wonderful place to work with a great atmosphere, the staff was EXCELLENT, and it’s in such a gorgeously perfect part of town!

@susanstripling:  Thanks for the reply!

We are actually doing it the same way, but I doubt it will feel cramped, we are invting 200, but expect around 160.

I’m glad everyone was good to work with, they all seemed very nice when I was there to tour the space.

Doing all this from Los Angeles has been challenging!

Reenerio, I think that will be the perfect amount of people in the space that way!!!

@Reeniero:  Hi there!  Would you mind telling the PP price?  How expensive, or not, is the Down town club?

thanks!

@cathyostro:  hi!

So, our base price per person is $159.00. We added an upgrade on the entree, and valet parking, so I’m not exactly sure what the final PP will be.

They also offer a $142.00 inclusive package for Fri/Sun.

We think we are getting a great value -the amount of food is astounding. And it includes uplighting, a cake, free parking for your guests in the adjacent parking structure, and probably more things that I am forgetting bc I just woke up. 🙂

Reeniero:  THis is funny, when I read this post I was going to say there was this blog I was reading while wedding planning and she had hers at the downtown club and it looked awesome.

I was thinking of your blog!  I found it because we had looked at lots of the same venues.  I settled on please touch as downtown club was all booked up for like a year and a half. 🙂

audrey_lane:  Well, Please Touch is AMAZING! I am so glad you went with them. I loved our wedding, but not booking the museum was a bit of a heartbreak for me. Congrats on your wedding & good luck with your planning!

The wedding was fun!  But we had similar issues with the price of draping and all that jazz.  everything is “somewhat” negotiable but still kinda crazy on the price.  My dad fell in love with the carousel idea so that trumped his sense of reason.  on my wedding day, my best friend nearly had a heart attack when she saw the bathrooms before cleanup – when the museum closes as you can imagine it is FILTHY. 🙂  They move like gangbusters to make everything sparkle but a lot of your issues were pretty valid. 🙂
