Hahaha.a.. I used to give tours there–I considered it a major accomplishment when I finally forgot the script–and I was going to say something about it on your Hearst Castle post but decided not to. What time of year are you two going on your honeymoon, again? If you’re going when it’s hot out, skip the WMH. Please. It’s a long, hot walk in crowded, claustrophobic spaces with no air conditioning (people threw up on my tour more than once). If it’s cool out… it’s okay. It’s not as awesome as Hearst Castle, but if you get a good tour guide it can be pretty fun(ny).

That time of year it will be okay. πŸ™‚ I really liked Hearst Castle better as a tourist, because it’s beautiful to look at no matter what your guide is saying. Who gives your tour is more important at WMH because it’s a little less to look at on its own. πŸ˜‰ I’d tell you who to ask for, but I worked there in 2004 and I don’t think they have any of the same staff. πŸ˜‰

I went there last summer when husband (then fiance) took me.  It was fun, but really hot during the summer. If you are going next month, I think you’ll enjoy it. I like visiting old houses and this one was one of the more interesting.

I’ve never been, but I hear the night tours are pretty cool. Do they still do those? Also, if you’re going all the way up to the Bay, you might want to check out the mystery spot in Santa Cruz too, it’s pretty fun and there’s always the boardwalk and beaches nearby!

it’s this whacky little place in the mountains where the physics supposedly don’t work right! hehe.
