I need to commit to working out! There is a Curves right in my little office building. They have some wacky hours which wouldn’t work for me if I had to go out of my way to get there, but since it’s right there, I could go before and after work. My desk looks out onto the parking lot, and I see lots of middle aged women going in… would i be out of place there? Also, is it an effective workout? boring? Any other info? I appreciate the advice, thanks!!
(I guess this is technically not wedding related, so I’ll post it on the non-Beehive board for now.)

My mom went and she felt like it was musical chairs and it was kind of gross because the machines aren’t cleaned all that often. I’ve never been, I think I’d be keener on a "real" gym. I prefer Women’s fitness centres so as to avoid the creeperiffic guys at regular gyms. 🙂

It probably depends on the club. Before moving, I belonged to one with my mom and it worked for me because she would drag my rear end out of the house to exercise. It definitely wasn’t a 20 something crowd but since I was working out with my mom I didn’t care. If I was by myself I probably would have been pretty bored though.

I’ve belonged to Curves for years now, although I often go with my mom, as psu01 said as well. However, I do go by myself and for me personally, it works. I like the fact that you really don’t need to put a lot of thought into your workout- meaning, you don’t need to plan exactly what to do, because it is all laid out for you. Many Curves locations offer passes for 1 free trial week- you could always look into that and see what you think. Good luck! 🙂

If you are trying to get in shape, I would take a spinning class. Whenever I need to get serious about losing weight and getting in shape, I just go spinning 3-4 times a week. It helps a lot, but can be very very difficult at first. Just make sure to know your body and don’t over exert yourself.
