There are a few dresses that I love including the Vera Wang Diana but definitely out of my price range. Anyone purchase from a online website that sells “replica” dresses, like Storeofadress.com? Yay/Nay? Or get a designer dress replicated? I understand that replicated dresses are not 100% alike but what about the quality of the materials? I know I have the option to get a “used” designer dress but I dont really want to go down that route. Do I need to settle?
I need honest opinions please! Thanks!

I bought a Maggie Sottero replica, but was able to try them on and order a new one locally, so if you can that might be the easiest and safest route! The quality of my dress was outstanding and no one had any idea it wasn’t the real thing, not that most guests at weddings are Maggie Sottero experts anyways!

hey so my friend natalie lewis now archuleta bought her alfred angelo replica from store of dress last spring!!!! it came out beautiful!!! it was fully lined and the beading was amazing!!!! she did the custom measurements which are only like 20 percent more but her dress was identical to the afred angelo one. she also went to the alfred angelo store here and tried on the dress to make sure it was her dress!!!

Honestly, you would do much better buying the dress used from another bride. If you get a replica, you never know what the quality would be. And many times, if you want to return the dress, a) you have to pay expensive shipping charges to return it, and b) there is a “restocking fee.” Thus, you can end up paying a lot for a dress that you can’t even wear.

You know, I came close to ordering a dress from them, but after reading some of the posts here on WB, I didn’t do it. I’ve decided to go to trunk shows and sample sales, as well as entering contests to win a dress. You have plenty of time, so spend a few months looking around. At first I thought I had a dress picked out, but now I’ve changed my mind about a zillion times.
Don’t make a decision until you’ve tried on a dress in every silouette and in every color you’re interested in. Once you’ve narrowed down a style/color you prefer, look at ALL dress vendors and see what they have to offer. You’ll be surprised to see that dress designers all copy one another, and although you love Vera right now, there’s another designer copying her (for less $$$ in most cases). Who knows – you might find the dress of your dreams for an affordable price!
