Yup I ordered a simple fingertip-length raw-edge veil from the Internet without ever trying it on… I bought it used so I figure I can resell it at the same price I bought it if it doesn’t work out, but if it does then one less thing to worry about 🙂

But if your first fitting is this weekend, then you can try on the store’s veils while you have the dress on. I would wait a few days in case you find a style that you love… And then you can buy one from the store or order online (the bridal salon where I bought my dress charged an arm and a leg for their veils).

I wasn’t sure I even wanted a veil for my beach wedding, and as I was discussing it with my best friend, she offered me hers. I have a great pic of my BFF putting “my” veil on me on the day of, and it was an easy way to save $150-200 (plus, it’s something borrowed!).

I haven’t quite picked mine yet, but I’ll order it without trying it on once I do.  I refuse to drop $200 on a veil in a store, so I’m going with used or Etsy or Ebay.
