i'm doing them as a gift to my FI! they're probably trendy and who knows if our kids will find them and i certainly can't run for public office now, but i think he'll like it.
I'm also doing them in Seattle as a gift to my FH. I had never heard of them before I started reading Wedding Bee but when I googled boudoir photos one of the first hits was for a photographer near where I work and live. So I figured, why not!
I did them. I just finished putting them into a blurb book- that will be my wedding gift to fiance. It was a really good experience, and will knock his socks off.
I did b-pics. My fiance is a photographer (better than amateur, but not pro yet) so he took them. We rented lighting and a pro camera from a local camera shop and shot them in our living room, using some cheap muslin as a backdrop. My tip is to get your hair done first and pick out a few cute outfits. Think pin-up styling. They don't need to be raunchy to be hot :)
Actually mine are on Friday and I'm way excited. My photog is going to make a nice book for me and it will be my gift to Mr S on our wedding day.
I'm going more cutise then risque, just because I'm a little unhappy with my body. But I'm comfortable with my photog and I know she'll make me look my best.
Haha. I actually have a portfolio of lingerie shots and semi-nudes that a photographer friend of mine did years ago. She wanted some practice doing natural light B&W photography, and I thought it would be fun. It was, and the photos are great. My FI got a big kick out of them when I showed him. But no, we're not doing anything like that just for the wedding. One, we have enough other things to spend the money on. And two, he had fun looking at the photos, but thinks it's way more fun to look at me. I've told him about how you all are getting these done, and he says he'd rather pack the lingerie in an overnight bag and spend the money on a nice hotel suite with room service.
I did them with Erica Tait. If you're in the DC area she's doing another marathon boudoir session - PM me for the link.
She took like over 300 photos and I picked 38 of them to go into a blurb book for my husband to be. She was great b/c she told you exactly how to place your hands, your face, when to smile (not too big, or a little more). I got my makeup done for an hour beforehand and that really calmed me down. An experienced boudoir photographer will know the most flattering poses for you, and she will concentrate on your face.
Just remember to bring high heels and accessories - a long strand of pearls, thigh highs, a short veil if you want, etc.
I really want to do them! I almost did that session with HenryC but I had emergency eye surgery - not very sexy! I would like to firm up and lose a few but I definitely hope to do them as my gift to Mr. Man on the big day.
does anyone have a recommendation of a good boudoir photographer in mpls minnesota?
I did them and I had sooo much fun! I say go for it! I did mine with Caroline of www.littledetailsphotography.com. I can't wait to give the book Caroline made for me to my FI on our wedding day. Seriously, how can your FI not like something like that regardless of how you feel about your body. And like Caroline told me, it's the photographers job to capture you in the best light. I was nervous at first because I have some trouble spots (I think) but they turned out great. So don't worry about it. Just wear lingerie and stuff that covers the bad spots. That's what I did. Caroline was also the most affordable one that I could find. Good luck!

I recently checked my photog's blog (Henryc Photography) and found that he has posted a few boudoir photos. Is this the latest trend? I'm deciding whether or not to do them myself. But not sure if I would look as good as the girls posted. These girls look amazing!
