I really want a knee length to tea length gown, but I was (and am) a tomboy. Also, I’m far too active and curious for my own good. So I have all sorts of little bone bruises, and scars on my legs. I hate my knees.
Little imperfections. I also have those weird vein things at the back of my knee. They aren’t veracose veins, but more from the wear and tear of gaining and losing weight. I run at about a size 14/16.
Anyway I’m just curious if anyone wore stockings or applied makeup to their bare legs? Or if you have any plans for making them look stunning.

@DarthBetty: Either way, I’m sure you’ll look beautiful! Stockings sound like a good idea. Makeup would also work!

I’d go with the stockings. Makeup could rub off on chairs and stuff.

@DarthBetty: I wore stockings. Not for coverage though for warmth, it was about 48 degrees on my wedding day

@luvmesumhim: Oh wow!
I guess I’ve never seen brides in stocking on the wedding day. So I wasn’t sure if it would just be odd if I did it.

@DarthBetty: I had a short dress and was super self-conscious about my spider veins — which I’ve had since high school. ugh.
not to be the devil’s advocate, but I’ve never found pantyhose that looked natural. even if I buy an expensive pair that looks good in real life, in photos, the flash bounces off the material and makes it look like I’m wearing white hose. not a good look.
I tried sally hansen’s airbrush legs, and found the lightest color to be too dark for me. but it may work for you. they also have a new version in a squeeze tube called airbrush legs lotion. I haven’t tried it yet, but it looks like the lightest color might work better if you have pale legs. if you have tan skin, then yay for you, you might have better luck finding a color match! it’s supposed to be water resistant and rub proof (and the reviews sound like that may actually be true).
that new stuff wasn’t available at the time of my wedding, so I went a more expensive route: Dior Airflash spray foundation. They found one that matched my pale skin exactly. it helped blur my imprefections a lot, and did not rub off on my dress. (I can’t remember, but my makeup artist might have set it with powder to keep it from rubbing off.)
tip: if you are wearing spanx, put them on before you put on the leg makeup, or they will smear it! I learned the hard way 🙂

@nerdybird: I’m am the palest person that I have ever known. So I will definetly try the Dior Airflash spray foundation you mentioned. Thank you so much.
Nude stockings look terrible on me because they don’t match my legs at all. I’ve seen some brides wear white decorated stocking with the dress, but I didn’t want to have to wear those either.

I don’t have pretty legs at all…but I’m going for it au naturale. I do have one very large scar I might see if the MUA can lighten….at least for pics.
Notmally I would never wear a dress or shorts..but I dunno. Something’s got my wanting to run around nekki lately lol!

Donna Karan ‘The Nudes’ hosiery- it’s the best hose you can get in the United States. Fantastic, and come in very light shades for those of us that are fair. I have to wear hose for work, and these are the only ones I will spend money on.

@icetea: Hahahahaaa! I’ve been feeling crazy feminine since I got engaged and now I want to wear shorts and skirts all the time. I’m not sure what’s going on
@mignonette: Ooooh. I may buy those for regular use. lol
