A dear friend of mine has a nephew (who is more like a brother or really a son to her) who has been fighting cancer and is losing the battle. They can no longer treat it and it’s apparent the cancer will be winning the battle in the next few weeks.
For those of you have gone through times of personal loss, my deep condolences. I find myself at a loss as to what I can do to support my friend – and am wondering if any of you who have recently gone through loss can recall what was helpful from friends to support you during this time.
I want to be there for her and support her through this – I know I can’t take away the pain of the process – but I want her to know that I’m there and I care. I ask how she’s doing and ask about her nephew all the time…. but I find myself wanting to do more and I’m not exactly sure what to do…
