I’d still have your MoH there? Even if she can’t taste everything, she can tell you how something looks, and wont you want to know there’s something for your MoH to eat on your night too?

Maybe its a difference of location but my reception venue the tasting is free because we already booked it for the wedding. So haveing someone else there might be nice.

I think you’ll be okay – take good notes, and take plenty of photos. That way you can discuss with your FI and families afterwards, and talk about what tasted the best and what will please your crowd. To be honest, we didn’t pick a menu right away at our tasting – we went home, talked about what most of our guests liked to eat, and then made a decision. The tasting helped me eliminate a few options, but the final decision was based on what our crowd likes (BBQ).

Alternatively, could you invite a bridesmaid other than your MOH to go with you for moral support? Or do you have any friends that would want to tag along for fun? It doesn’t have to be someone in the wedding party, I’m sure most people would love to attend a tasting!

@FutureMrsRR:  Well if you’re not sure you’re going to do the booking with them then just you go 🙂 IF you are sure then its not really a cost 😉

BTW maybe you can co-ordinate just a visit with your BMs and your tasting? I don’t know if they do weekend visits with you but then you could have another BM there that could try stuff and you’d have company.

I know a friend who went alone and another bridal party having a tasting thought she looked so lonely that they invited her to go over to their table. It was a bit embaressing for her….

I’m doing them alone. I may take my FMIL to some but DF is busy with work and doesn’t really care anyway. If I wanted for his work schedule to get better we would never get anything done
