Fair enogh I have just never heard of it before As a favour so I thought maybe it had a special meaning… I think one per couple is plenty x

Bored6: I think maple syrup is a cute idea, especially for a fall or winter wedding. I’ve been to a wedding where they gave out jars of honey, and I thought that was really cute. And yummy!

I wouldn’t take it – I don’t like maple flavor. We don’t eat anything in our home that would use syrup.

Bored6: What about some preserves/jams? But I would still be ok with maple syrup year round! I love maple syrup 🙂 I just think something that’s “in season” would be a nice touch. If you went with jams it would be a bit more flexible where you could pick something that might match your color theme?

OOO!!I vote for jams!

P.S. I just remembered – a supplier to my husband’s company (from New England) sent the office a bunch of bottles of maple syrup, last holiday season. They’re quite expensive, but they couldn’t get the employees to take them. Finally, I think the crew was asking around enough that they found friends and relatives to take them.

Bored6: My friend did maple syrup because they had their wedding in VT. Took both of ours home. We definitely used it. But maybe something that has a little bit more significance.

Bored6: As a New Englander I love this idea! But I think it’d fit better with a fall or winter wedding. For a summer wedding I think honey or jam would be nice! I’d take it, especially if it’s in a cool jar 😉

Just some ideas of things I’ve gotten as favors: Jam; Honey; Infused Olive Oil.

Some of the weddings gave them as favors to each person. One couple used them as escort cards, so each couple got one.

Bored6: We didn’t do maple syrup, but we did do maple sugar candies. They were a HUGE hit. I was hoping some would be left over, but none were! Every last one was taken. MANY were enjoyed throughout the night.

I would think that maple syrup would be just as big a hit. I think 1 bottle per invite would be fair enough.

If you’re interested this is what we gave out:

The packages are small, only 3 candies, but they were just little favors! If we’d done bottles of syrup we’d have done 1 pint sized decantor per couple. It’d been the same price as doing 3 candies per guest.

PS We had a summer wedding, and maple sugar candies were still a hit.
