I was on Stage 4 and then I totally stopped going to the gym two weeks ago. I'd like to start again but I'm not sure which level to start at!
FI and I are doing the program. We're on Week 3 (Stage 3) for the last 2 weeks. We probably going to try Week 4 next week, but running for 5 mins straight is going to be hard (for me).
@MissTatas: Awesome that you made it that far! We're lucky to still have the weather to run outside because I am a total klutz on a treadmill. You should try stage 3 maybe, see how you feel. If it's super hard, move down to 2 for the week. I plan to really try to listen to my body and repeat levels if I need to. Hopefully we'll be able to keep it up!
i wanna try this once the weather here breaks! i used to be an avid runner (was in the army for 6 years).... now im pretty sure id die before a half mile... you ladies are so inspirational!
@cutexkitty: Good for you guys!! Do you time yourselves? We've been using the Podrunner Intervals podcasts but the music is sooo lame. I wish someone would come up with some well-timed mixes of decent music!
@stephanie63087: Definitely go for it! If you were in the army you can definitely handle this. It starts with just alternating 60 seconds of jogging and 90 seconds of walking - it's tough for me but as I said, I've never been a runner.
@kirabee: i have a question... i was looking at it online and it says you can go by distance or time... which do you use? id think you would want to use distance right??
@stephanie63087: We've been using time - it's easier for us since we run on the beach at night so it's really hard for us to judge the distance. This site is a great compilation of different resources for people in the program. Just reading the guy's story is really inspirational! We've been using the podcasts that I linked above to time our runs - it has different tempos of music to indicate when you should run or walk, it's pretty cool, but as I said above, the music is really lame. I think if you have the app for your iPhone you can use your own music and there are cues to switch, but I don't have an iPhone.
@kirabee: that makes me want an i phone... i definately need 'pump me up music to run lol)! grr....this whole thing is so neat! i cant wait to start... its just so cold right now!!!! and i dont have a gym membership or anything so it will just have to wait for march or april :)

The boyfriend and I started about two weeks ago but then I got really sick and wasn't able to keep up with it. We started again tonight. I love my boyfriend so much, he's such a good motivator and I have to be honest and say there is NO WAY I'd be doing this without him! It makes me feel so accomplished. I have never been a runner (though I was very active with dance throughout childhood and high school) but this program is totally doable!
For anyone who doesn't know, Couch to 5-K is an interval training program that prepares you to run 5-K after 9 weeks.
Anyone else doing C25K right now? Wanna be motivator buddies??
