The past few years I have been a bit of a fitness nut. I’ve worked out a lot on my own and also worked with a trainer. Recently I found out about a Cross-Fit gym in my area and after one session I was hooked!
Just curious if anyone else was doing cross-fit? PS – I finally got the kick handstand down last night. 🙂

I did CF for a year. Personally, I wasn’t happy with it in the end. I am 5’8″ & a size 4/6, I like feeling strong with a soft and feminine physique & this type of workout routine bulked me up too much. (Despite what CF enthusiasts say about being able to keep your femininity…it’s not true, you’ll lose your boobs (unless they are fake) and your little waist will disappear, & your thighs will get big. If that’s how you feel confident and sexy then it’s perfect for you!)
Not only that, but the cost to join an affiliate gym is generally outrageous. To avoid paying $260/month for both of us, we spent $800 on equiptment & put our own CrossFit gym in the garage!!
PROS: I am pretty competitive, so the intensity of the WOD was always great for me, and the length of time spent at the gym is a definite plus…20min AMRAP is usually the longest you’ll go.
It’s a culture of it’s own, so my advice if you decide to drink the CF koolaid, learn the lingo or the popular kids at the gym won’t think you’re super cool. (e.g. “Kipping Handstand Pushup”) 😉 3-2-1..go!
