Oh wow! You are in for it girl! I love Insanity, but something always happens to me to where I can't get through the whole program (i.e. grandma passed, traveling all weekend with too much on my agenda, too sick to workout, hurt my back being stupid etc...) I've re-started about 3 times. I may do it again this winter. I LOVE the workouts though! You blast a lot of calories in so little time. Depending on how good of shape you're in, you may or may not get through the warm-up without resting...but it's soooo awesome when you can finally do a whole workout non-stop!! There aren't many that are easy to do that with!
My advice: don't skip a day for soreness! The first two weeks, you will be sore every single day! Don't stop! If you have to modify your workout so you don't hurt yourself, then modify, but don't skip the workout! Also, if you stop for even a few days, you will immediately notice a diffference when you try to start back up!! It's hard stuff and you HAVE to stay on it or you're not going to see results! Also, don't be discouraged if you have to rest during the workout. The people in the video rest too! Just get back to it ASAP and try to mark down how many breaks you took during each video so you can track your progress! Also, don't forget to log your food! No point in exercising like a mad woman if you're eating a bunch of crap!
Ok...that's enough unsolicated advice!! Lol!
Good luck with the program!!!
Thanks a lot for the advice! Since I made my blog for the program I am determined as hell to stick with it. I made myself accountable for this decision by posting it on FB where all my closest friends/acquaintances can see whether or not I following through with my promsies to myself lol. I am going to push through. After all, it's only 60 days... !

I LOVE INSANITY!! :) its such an excellent workout program and the dvd's are only 40-45 mins the first month. Month 2 they are around 60 min, but they still go by pretty quickly. The workouts are more intense though. It felt like I had started all over haha! I'm on my 3rd time through, and let me tell you its still a challenge! My advice would be to just keep moving, eventually the soreness goes away and stretching helps a lot! dont skip the stretching! :) It'll get easier as you get stronger.
I am pretty average height and have never had a problem with weight, but after gaining a few pounds my last year of college, i decided I needed to do something about it. I lost 17lbs, I didnt even know I had all that to lose!! On top of that, I've noticed a HUGE increase in my endurance.
Just stick with it and try not to skip days. I have yet to incorporate the meal plan, maybe that will be my next time through haha. GOOD LUCK! :)
A friend of mine, who is a super fit, competitive skater, is totally into this workout. He is itching to get me to try it. It sounds like you all love it too, so I'm going to give it a try. Keep me posted on your progress.
I think once i finish up p90x I am going to give Insanity a try!
I did it! And I love it! I finished the entire 60 days.
However, I did NOT follow the meal plan, and I didn't lose any weight. But, I did notice I was more tone - especially in the arms. And my endurance was up - I was able to run longer and faster than before, and do more push ups, etc.
I've started it again - however, I'm not doing it everyday. I noticed that when I do the workout I eat a lot more because I'm so hungry, and I think that is why I wasn't losing anything. This time around, I'm doing more running, and doing Insanity 3-4x per week instead of 6x. And, I'm also watching what I eat more. I hope this does it! I don't have much to lose, 5 lbs would be nice, 10 would be great! And any more would be bonus. But still, it's always those last 5, isn't it?!?!
Best of luck! Stick with it and regardless of the end result on the scale, you'll be happy with yourself. I know I am!
Had to comment! I am in in the second month of insanity currently for my wedding!
It's great, it's hard work but awesome!
I've researched a TON, if you miss a day, just keep on with your schedule. It feels so great to just be committed to something and follow through!
I have not experienced any soreness even from the begininng, just tightness, and once was sore in my glutes.
I do not follow the eating plan, but eat very healthy anyway. I have experienced the opposite, I am NOT hungry at all for almost 6 hours after I do a workoout, and have to make my self eat.
I also found that If i've eaten within 2 hours before a work out, I cannot perform as well.
I also have already lost inches around my stomach, and thighs and am already pretty thin.
So it works GREAT! I just hope that it doesn't make my legs TOO buff before the big day! :)
Good luck! Just stick with it!
I started it, but I had to stop. I have asthma, and I just can't do certain exercises. Even when I am in really good shape, some things give me flair ups. I got through the fit test but had to stop and use my inhaler half way through. I gave it two more days and then decided it wasn't worth it. I'll stick with regular weights and the elliptical. Two of my coworkers are doing Insanity and absolutely love it, though.
This sounds really great. If anyone wants to sell their DVDs, let me know.
I'm in my 2nd month as well. It's tough, especially the Max Interval Circuit! Ugh! I've gotten a bit burnt out and haven't been doing it every day.. mixing it up with my YOga DVDs. I haven't lost any weight either since I'm not following the meal plan, but my arms have gotten really toned.. I couldn't do a push up to save my life and now I can hang with the people on the DVD (kinda) :)
I did Insanity twice and I'm a total follower. This workout is amazing! However be warned, any of you with knee injuries. They totally mean that disclaimer. The second round through I had a friend do it with me, and she re-tore her ACL and had to have surgery because of the plyometric jumps. So no plyometrics for those of you with a history of problems! I really wanted to do it again this summer, but Mr. SD really wanted to start trying for kids, and apparently extreme exercise is a no-no. I miss the incredibly fit feeling it gives you, and all those endorphins! I'd totally recomend getting a chest heart moniter, it's so worthwhile to see the calories burned with each exercise, it really encouraged me to finish all of them.
I have it and tried it before but like Amaryllis, I have asthma so I had to take a break from it. I will try it again after doing some Jillian Micheal's DVDs for a while.
I am almost done with my first month and I love it!!! Me and my fiance have been doing it together, he has lost 6 pounds so far (has about 20-30 to lose) and I have lost 2 (only have about 5-10 to lose). I have lost over 10 inches though. I feel so much healthier than I did three and a half weeks ago. The most important thing though is form and don't push pause. Take a break, grab a swig of water, and get back into it! I would really love to hear any one else's results.
For anyone who finished the program, did you lose more weight in the second month than the first? I am really hoping to lose those last 8 pounds in the second month. I have looked into some reviews that said that for people who do not have a lot to lose, they hardly lose any in the first couple weeks but after that they do. Any advice??
It's awesome knowing there's so many of us out there who are doing this program! I'm still sticking with it! =] I'm super proud of myself!
@ChantelleyLace:You should be proud of yourself! It is such a commitment! I think I am a week ahead of you and honestly, I didn't lose any weight until a few days after the second week ended. ( I saw on your blog that you didn't lose a lot of weight yet) I think I was just building muscle (so technically I lost fat lbs and gained muscle ones) Keep going you will see the pounds drop!

I just started yesterday. I did the Fit Test and MAN am I ever sore today!! I'm not sure how I'm going to get through my workout later today lol. I popped a tylonol so I hope that helps with the muscle stiffness. If anyone is interested, I made a blog about my fitness journal w/ Insanity (and posted it publicly on FB so I hope that keeps me motivated). You can follow it here:
