FI and I were looking at Carnival cruise weddings last night & it got me really interested! Has anyone done it before? We’d have 17 people + us two there + whatever the cruise has officiant and dj and all that wise. I seen that they did flowers and cake and dinner for me and my hubby to be. I’ll do my invites via minted.com and I’ll wear my Casablanca 1914. Then in a few years, we’ll have a big big wedding……
Who’s done a cruise wedding and what did you love/ hate about it?

@tobemrstaddesse: I attended a cruise wedding last year, when my cousin was married. We had a group of just under 30, and they were actually married in Mexico, on the second day of our five day cruise. The wedding was very nice, thanks to her experienced planner. And the rest of the guests, including myself, had a BLAST! Although, it did feel more like I was taking a vacation for ME, not celebrating her wedding…
I feel like there are a lot more “mini-destination wedding” options than a cruise, but I guess that depends on where you’re getting married. Have you looked into estate or vaction rentals? Many allow small weddings, and make for a great getaway for smaller weddings…

@tobemrstaddesse I haven’t been to one but my co-worker’s niece got married on a Carnival ship and she loved it! He showed me pictures and it looked like it turned out great. They actually married before the ship left dock so people not going on the cruise were able to attend the ceremony and reception, which I thought was kinda cool.
Last cruise I was on there was wedding happening on one of the ports (Key West) and they had the reception on the ship and it looked like a lot of fun.
Anyways, the co-worker’s niece actually has a blog about cruise weddings, she is a travel agent. I can PM you the link if you want.
