We're planning on doing a Video Booth Confessional as well! Although, not so much for the guest book.
I think it'll be so fun! Some bees have commented that they don't like to be on video and neither do their friends. But in our case we have a lot of silly friends and I figure by the time the booze starts flowing. Hehe.
I'm going to have the FI put together a booth that's easy to assemble on site (probably PVC frame w/"curtains" as walls). Put a 2 person bench in there with a video camera on a tripod. Some simple play, stop, pause, instructions and let them go! I'll probably hire someone after the fact to edit the little snippets or do it myself.
The best part is if anyone does/say something extremely embarasseing you can always edit it out of the final DVD. Might be fun to let a finished edited copy circulate among your guests after the wedding too.
Oh that's so awrsome to hear!!! We had talked about doing the same type of construction but I love the suggestion of putting a bench in it. Our friends and family are all very outgoing and silly, too so I think that they'd love it!
How are you indicating that there is a video confessional? Since we're using it as a guest book, I'll need to let the guests know to do it. I'm sure our DJ can make some sort of announcement as well.
Thank you!
We have a wedding website so I'm definitely going to mention it in depth on there.
Then probably include in our wedding program. And I want to make some kind of sign w/arrow hung off the ceiling/in our case the tent structurue pointing to the booth. And I'm sure when people see it their curious nature will take over and wander over!
I think in particular kids will get an absolute blast over it! Hehe.
And with summer coming up I'm hoping to pick up a super simple cheap bench at a garage sale or something. If not I'm sure the FI can whip something simple up relatively fast with 2x4s then I'll make it pretty! And I like the idea of a bench more than 2 individual chairs because more people can pile onto it cuz it's sturdier!
Very cool! I think maybe if I put a sign on the outside of the "booth" that explains what it is, then word of mouth will spread. I'm ok if not everyone uses it anyways :) I just think it will be so fun to watch it after our wedding and see all the people!

My fiance and I want to do something "different" for our guest book. We considered the advice/wishes tree, a fauxtobooth, and signing a scrapbook of our engagement photos.
He suggested that we set up sort of a video "confessional"- sort of like a photobooth but guests would get 30 seconds or so to record a piece of advice, a memory, or good wishes to us. When he first mentioned it I thought it would be really trashy and stupid... but after we talked about it more, I realized that you could actually make it sort of cute. You could still make it look like a photobooth and have the camera on a tripod, and maybe have a few silly props as well!
What do you guys think? Would we hire someone to do the videotaping or trust our guests to be able to hit record and stop. I have a feeling that by 11pm, I won't want them recording anything (although it may be sort of funny at that point).
Opinions!
