I might not be able to afford going on the honeymoon of my dreams at the time we get married. Anyone going on a honeymoon where they rent a cabin in the mountains or anything? I am open to suggestions on the east coast (i live in LI, NY) that I can drive to. We might drive to Disney, not sure. My fiance has never been.

My honeymoon consists of taking a couple days off work and going to a baseball game.
I have no money for a honeymoon and no want to go into debt. So if you want to go someplace close, I say go for it! It’ll be so much better than spending all your money to go someplace else.
(Sorry I’m not much help finding a place)

We’re actually taking our honeymoon before we’re married! LOL We’re spending a week hiking & camping in Maine the last week of July. We’re getting married about a month after we get back. We’ll probably go to Glacier National Park the year after next for our "honeymoon". 🙂

I don’t want to go into debt either, but I think we’ll be able to shell out some $$ for a getaway. I think driving might be cheaper than flying. Also my FH won’t have his papers yet to leave the country (based on our visa we are applying for). So in the US is a must.

If you live in NY, the Catskills or Poconos might be a much easier drive than Disney. If you want to go south, Charleston or Savannah are also good, less expensive getaways. You could also consider spending a few days in NYC or Philly.

I have a friend whose family owns a lovely bungalo on LBI. It’s seriously a 10 second walk to the beach. PM me if you are interested in contacting her…

We were in teh same boat. Our honeymoon wil be sometime in the next year, but we took an amazing minimoon for a few days. Just pick a town or beach or national park or whatever nearby floats your boat and explore and relax for a few days. You get all the unwind and enjoy of a honeymoon, but on a budget and you can take a grand trip later.
