Seriously. I cannot seem to stick to two colors.
First I was dead set on sage green and pale yellow. But FSIL used those, so I decided on light pink and pale yellow. But one of my BMs threw a fit, because neither of those are “her color.” So then it transformed into light pink and navy blue.
Today I’m feeling pale yellow and lavender. Or navy blue and lavender. I just can’t seem to decide! Anyone else flip flop this much?

I stopped trying to make a color theme and decided that colorful was my theme. We weren’t matchy matchy but everything came together really nicely!

I was – til I decided not to have a colour scheme! Now it’s just bright pastels. I couldn’t commit to one or two colours – it felt too restrictive so now we’re “anti colour scheme”. My BM’s are all wearing different colours and as long as its a brighter pastel it’s in!

why dont you use the places and ideas surrounding your wedding to define your colors, rather than taking stabs in the dark? where is your venue, what colors does it use? what time of year, day or night, formal or informal? all those things should contribute to your color choice.
for example, if your ballroom had navy blue carpet, dont fight it. use it. at your wedding and in pictures, it will look like everything matches perfectly rather than looking like you tried to fight what was already there.

- Wedding: June 2010 - Claxton Farm
I think I mentioned this waaaaay long ago but the Snows’ first apartment was a sight… bright blue office, mustard bedroom, hot pink bathroom, grey stenciled squares in the living room, and a chartreuse kitchen….when we moved, the (slummy) landlords advertised our place as having “Exciting and funky colors!” I’ve been scared to touch paint since then… (and, luckily/sadly, not been allowed to per the lease…lol)

Hmm, I like the color group like pastels… that’s a great idea! Our top venue choice is all rich colors, though, so we’d have to go with a darker palette.
@ClairDarling – most of my darker color schemes are ones I thought of centering around our top choice venue. It’s a library with a marble staircase, and our ballroom has a lot of cherry wood. So a lot of the navy schemes are centered on that.
@Snow – LOL I think you just described my apartment with R. We have two other roommates, so we all kind of have eclectic sections of the apartment. Unfortunately it says in our lease we have to primer over before we leave. That’ll be fun…
