I’m embarassed to say, that even after I found the dress after 3 months of shopping(and purchased it) i still find myself needing to shop more and continue to try on more dresses–whats up with that?, its more addictive than anything!! If I get just a little depressed, i jump in the car and off I go to see whats new or on sale. Please tell me there are others out there with the same problem!!! I’m worried i’m going to be buying more dresses, which i’ve come close to doing. I’m not a first time bride, and i’m at an age where i should know better.
I bought my dress 3 months ago too. Whenever I got to a bridal shop, my BMs have to restrain me from looking at dresses. And they won’t let me try them on!!! I feel like I shouldn’t have picked out the dress knowing that I would want to still play dress up! It’s a confidence booster, it makes you happy, etc. so of course it can cause an addiction! I say, hey if that’s your stress reliever, then don’t be ashamed of it! Just don’t confuse yourself in the end if you find a dress that beats “the one”.
Haha this post came up as a “related topic” in a feed I posted about a week ago with me asking the same exact thing!!! It’s just SO much fun, and I wanted to keep doing it because I bought the first dress I tried on and almost feel like I’m missing out on playing dress up when I hear about other brides that have tried on a few dozen. I don’t want the headache of having a hard time picking the dress, I just want to play LOL. But it’s still super fun hehe 😉
LOL i was just about to post about this. I went to two places. The first was a dress shop and I tried on dresses that I liked, but nothing I loved. Then I went to the running of the brides and found my dress, but I was dissapointed I didn’t really get to try it on with “everyone” there to give me that boost of confidence. (plus it took a while of fighting with mothers to let go of their pile of dresses they were hoarding for their daughters..ugg)
I kind of want to go to the next running of the brides event or just go dress shopping somewhere to get that feeling and experience of ohh i’m trying on a pretty dress in a nice shop. I guess i could go with my friend who is also engaged and got her dress at the running as well, but she’s not very “girly” and don’t know if she’d want to play dressup in tandem with me.
