I just wanted to know if anyone else was surprised at how freakin’ long it takes to address envelopes! My word! It’s taken me like 8 days and I’m finally down to my last 25 envelopes. Here’s hoping I’ll finish them tonight while watching Desperate Housewives.
I was stupid and decided to do calligraphy. Had to measure and draw four light pencil lines on each envelope so I would write straight. Also trace, cut out and apply 200+ envelope liners. Gah! My calligraphy kinda looks like a serial killer did it, but at this point I. just. don’t. care!

Does it count if I’m avoiding addressing invites right now? I swore I would start this weekend, but gee- look at the time! Guess it’s too late now 😉
I know you’re down to your last 25, but are your envelopes a light color? Can you print out a paper with thick dark lines and stick it inside the envelope as a guide?
I’m going to attempt the tracing of printed out scripty font for addressing the invites, since my ‘calligraphy’ would look more like scribbles!
Good luck finishing your invites! So close to being done!

I also cheated by printing! But putting together the invites has taken so long, I don’t feel bad anymore!

We’ll be addressing in the next week or so and we’ll be printing as well. I’m thinking of going with a “handwriting” font rather than a “calligraphy” font.

I’m totally avoiding! Hehe, I did write in invitees for all the overseas invites this morning, it took SO long…

Me! Well, actually I’m writing out thank you notes. We are having system issues at work, and I can’t actually DO any work! So, I’m very glad I had this box of thank you notes sitting in my purse. I may even go home and get a second box! This is the most productive i’ve been at work since the wedding 😉

Hah! We totally cheated & printed them for our STD’s. We just used Word, made it a pretty font and printed them on Avery clear labels.

I still have to test this out first but my home printer has a print to envelope option. So I’ll be printing directly on to the envelopes.
I’m going to test it out on regular paper firs though just in terms of getting it centered properly on the “envelope”. We’re both pretty anal about having things centered. So I’ll be diagramming up a envelope outline on 8.5×11 in InDesign to test the layout. It’s probably unnecessary but if it doesn’t come out centered we’ll end up reprinting. Hahha. And the fonts I’m using look better in InDesign rather than Word which would be the fastest way to do it.

We printed our STD’s using our home printer, but even that took almost a full Saturday! And we only had about 40 to do. I’m not sure what we are going to do for the invitations. I really like the way the STD’s turned out, and I’m pretty sure a calligrapher is not in the budget.

I made one lined template to insert into each envelope, and used a lightboard for the calligraphy. i couldn’t handle lining each one.
It took forrrreeeeevvvvverrrrr to address the STDs. I’ll probably get started on the invites in a couple of months so I’m not rushed.

YES!!! I started about a week ago, was really productive, then stopped for a week…lol…half way done:-) But I keep telling myself I have PLENTY of time since we don’t plan to mail them until beginning of Feb!
**As my eyes glance at the calander realizing there’s only a week and a half left in Jan…YIKES!

I just finished addressing all of our save the dates. I’m trying to figure out how I work calligraphy in because my handwriting is SO bad. I might have to trace, which sounds un fun.
