Ha! I was the exact same way! Sounds too snotty to me 🙂 Although people would ask if my “fiance” was a different person than my “boyfriend”.

🙂

Fiance/bf, whatever comes out of my mouth first, I’m sort of newly engaged [1 month], so BF tends to slip out more often!

I do both. LOL my FI tends to call me his gf without meaning to. It doesn’t matter until we are married! Then it is a whole different story if he calls me his gf and not wife. LOL 🙂

I only type FI, in real life I just say his name.  I also call myself his girlfriend.  Honestly, I can’t wait until after the wedding and I can just say husband.

I do both as well. I don’t know why fiance is sort of an uncomfortable word to me. I don’t think it’s pretentious when others use it, but it feels that way a little when I use it. Maybe it’s because I feel like it draws attention to the fact that I’m engaged and planning a wedding? It seems like when I say fiance, people feel obligated to say, “Oh, congratulations, when are you getting married?” even when they otherwise would never ask that question.

FI started calling me his wifey, which confused his co workers.

I call him bf out of habit.

I always say BF on purpose.  I hate the word fiance for some reason.

It sounds pretentious to me as I say it and like I’m just trying to work it into the coversation that I’m getting married…. I dunno…

I used to when we were first engaged because I didn’t feel comfortable saying fiancé in case I received judgement or negative comments about our age (we were just about to turn 21).

I use fiance, but sometimes say boyfriend out of habit. I don’t find fiance a pretentious word unless I’m saying it like Cal in Titanic haha. I don’t think it makes me sounds like I’m bragging, in fact, I think people take my relationship more seriously. But yea, sometimes I accidently say boyfriend and I don’t correct myself or anything..they can see the ring.

I did.  I didn’t even tell half the people I knew we got engaged.  I just did not want to talk about it.  That being said, I have no clue what I am doing on weddingbee.  I love seeing other people’s stuff, just not mine!

I don’t like the word fiance either.. The only time I use it is when I am talking to someone related to the wedding (Vendors, etc). Otherwise, I just use his name or say my boyfriend.
