me, me me! i spent 2 whole days in a large Australian department store last week and i have come to loathe shopping! it's not much fun coming home empty handed! and can i mention that we do not have scanning technology? i read about you US girls and your fancy handguns...do you really want to know how much less fun it is writing down 11 number bar codes, style numbers, pattern numbers and colour codes etc for 300 gifts? man, it bloody sucked!
the online store i have registered at was much easier though :) any job that i can do in my pyjamas sitting on the couch is fine with me!
I saw a post on the Bee once about a bride-to-be who tried to go create a registry in the store with her FI and had such a falling out because their two styles were completely different! For various reasons, registering can be a pain in the patootie. My two best suggestions are (1) keep checking back every month or so for new items that you can add as inventory changes, and (2) branch out a bit from the normal kitchen/dining room registry and add whatever household items suit your fancy! I've also heard of honeymoon registries... maybe something for you to look into?

I must say I really hate registering for gifts! It's time consuming, tedious, and a bit overwhelming. It's hard to find things that are available in-store so that you have plenty for people who aren't very tech saavy or want to buy gifts for a wedding shower they want to throw you. I registered at two places so that I could have some in-store stuff besides online. One place the items run a little cheaper than the other. I actually had to recruit my fiance to help select some items today....we have to breaks from adding things though. It is slowly coming along. People have been asking where we're registered and I was keeping it a secret for a little bit because I didn't have enough items added yet, etc. I guess if some people don't like the registry they might send monetary gifts instead, I assume.
Anyways, anyone else not like the tedious task of adding registry gifts????
