No good inspiration pics but when I went to get my hair cut I had my stylist give me a cut that would work best with half up and half down. If you have a stylist that you work with consistently they might be willing to give you a trial run before your actual trial so you can really commit to half up -- I went back and forth for months...hope this helps!
That is an absolutely gorgeous style Mrs. Leopard, you were such a beautiful bride!!! I would love to do something like that, where there are long curls and it is just a bit pulled back.
Thank you!
I had extensions glued in that morning. It was a little more $$ than I wanted to spend but I was really happy with how it turned out.
I found this picture on Project Wedding. I'm not sure if my hair is capable of pulling off this style, but I'm sure going to try! :-)
I did half up/half down. I wanted my hair up (it's very curly and gets very frizzy and stylists just make me a cotton ball), but my hubs likes it down. So the half and half was a compromise.
I did it myself (with some help from my sister), so it's nothing very fancy, but I'm pleased with it.

I did half up/half down too!
The left picture is my inspiration picture I found on the Internet, the right picture and the one at the bottom is what it looked like on my wedding day.
Everyone is telling me to do half up half down, I think it's so beautiful on all these brides but I'm afraid I'll get sweaty by the end of the night -- I want to be able to DANCE! :) So I think I'm going to go with putting it all up. I wish I had a personal assistant to follow me around and change my hair halfway through the night! HAHA!!
HumarockBride - I did half up and half down because my face looks really big with my hair all up. I was dancing all night and it was ok though! Must be the powerful hairspray!
My hair can't hold a curl AT ALL. I envy the brides that can wear half up half down!
OH the dreaded hairspray. I know it's coming my way on wedding day but I like to avoid it at all costs!
I wanted to do half up but my FI does not like half up! No joke, he calls me William Wallace (Braveheart!!) when I do my hair like that.
Here's my e-pics with that type hair except I didn't go for "big hair"

I also love the half up half down and it tends to look better on me than either or. Here is a picture of my step cousin's. It looked so good:

I am also doing half up and half down! I don't like the all up look on me - I would look baldish.. and all down would look to normal.. so half up/down it is! And I asked the mr, and he agreed. I too need some inspiration pictures!
I don't usually like my hair all up so I am doing half up/half down. I like your inspiration pictures Kitty25, I have some of the same photos in my file!
Thanks so much for those inspiration shots! I've been planning to do half up/down and hadn't found a good example yet. :)
Glad I could help, and thanks for sharing your pics with me!
For those looking for a non-curled, half-up, half-down, I actually had my hair done that way for a wedding i was in last month - the stylist did it half-up, half down, and did a twist in back with flowers. Here's pics:

Whoops, the attachments I tried to do didn't work, here's links:

And, as you can see, the bride also had a really pretty half-up, half-down style!
I am so in love with the half up thing. I'm afraid to do a full updo because my forehead will look HUGE!!
I was going to do that, having my hair all the way up for the ceremony and then half and half for the receoption, then I got a bad haircut that left my loooooonnnnggg hair chin-length five months pre-wedding! I'm now 3.5 months until the big day. Now I'll have to see how much it grows before I decide what to do with it. It doesn't look good half-up anymore.
I am definitely planning on doing the whole half up half down thing! Here are some of my hair-spirations!
This is what I'm planning to do, too! I'm loving all of these beautiful inspiration pics. Great thread!
@ msduck & ready2bmrsd: I was a bridesmaid in a wedding a few years ago where the bride requested that we have half up/half down do and keep our hair straight. It came out quite nicely!
See attachment!
I had a few hair trials because everyone has insisted it is more sophisticated and elegant to wear my hair up. I just don't like it up!! I plan to wear it half up. Here are some pics I like.

I always knew I wanted to do a half-up, half-down style, but had a hard time finding inspiration photos. So, I put together a link with all the pictures I have found of this style that I like:

Anyone else doing this style, or have good inspiration pictures?
