I decided to drop some LBS pre-wedding and I’d rather do it NOW than stress right before the big day. I started the Dukan Diet back in January 2012 and so far have lost about 40 lbs. I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS ABOUT DUKAN! It has been the easiest diet that I have ever tried (and I’ve tried quite a few). The basics of it are: lean protein, veggies, and oat bran. That’s it at the beginning. You gradually add in fruit and whole grains. It’s great because you don’t have to count calories AT ALL and it really teaches you how to eat normally. It’s cheesy to say, but it’s really become a lifestyle! I went from a solid size 12 and now I’m somewhere between a 6 and an 8 depending on the brand. I AM LOVING IT! I’m actually going to need to get my dress taken in!!! Can’t wait for the honey moon and bathing suits! Never thought I’d say THAT!!!
Is anyone else out there doing Dukan? Any tips or recipes to share? Have you hit any plateaus? How about any gaining once you went to stabilization? How much exercise do you typically get? I’m still right on track but am curious what experiences other brides have been having.

@RiverBride13: Well done you!!!!!!! Fantastic!
I did Dukan last year for a while but my fiance is a big time carb fiend and I do all the cooking so found it to hard to stick with. I did loose a bit but when I re-introded carbs I just went right back up to where I started 🙁 Completely my fault! I have lost about 20 lbs sticking to a VLCD over the last month but with anything the proof will be in trying to maintain. So happy for you and I too am looking forward to pulling out the bikinis on the HONEYMOON!

I actually follow a primarily vegan diet, mostly due to food allergies and intolerances… I find that when someone is telling me what I can/can’t eat, I want it even more 🙂 I just did some research, the side effects of a high protein/low carb diet look pretty unpleasant- how far into Dukan are you, do you think it’s something you could keep going with? I’m interested, I haven’t heard of it before. Thanks!

@MrsPeachMartini: I’ve been doing Dukan since mid January 2012 and really couldn’t be happier. I’ve achieved the results I wanted and never thought I would see. I am now at the maintenance stage and adding in fruits, whole grain breads, and cheese daily as well as a weekly “free” meal. I understand what you mean about wanting something even more when it is “off limits”, but with Dukan, I know it’s not off limits forever, so that helps me get through. As far as side effects, the only thing I’ve heard of and semi-experienced is some constipation. I take a fiber supplement now and no more problem. Overall, I’ve been really happy. No counting or measuring is great too!

I think I need to cut bad carbs and eat more vegetables for my health. This is interesting and I’m thinking about getting the cookbook. Glad you’re doing well on it!

Im on Dukan attack day 2.. Finding it pretty easy so far..I done it a few months ago & lost half a stone in 5days & kept it off even though i skipped stages 2,3 & 4..Very lucky..Just went back onto ww but iv hit a plateu again so decided to get back on this….would love to have last half a stone off before the day & hit my target Only 2 weeks till final fitting tho so gta give it everything in the next 14days..
Was just a quick Q for any of you.. When it says seasoning the meant like garlic etc.. Is things like bbq powder..Cajun seasoning etc allowed? Cant seem to find the answer online. Iv been pretty boring so far & had plain as it comes chicken & turkey but it gets old fast.
