Somebody's watching you o.o
Nah,lol, I mean has anyone else felt like they're a thread killer? I'm kinda nervous to post on any thread cause it seems like after that... they're gone... lol. Anyone else have that or is it just me being weird?
@LadySapphire: This was a topic not too long ago and it's actually made a few of us a lot closer. :) But to answer your question, I definitely feel that way still. Or I feel like I'm not "popular" enough to get responses to a thread I do start. But this is all in fun so I try not to take anything too personally. :)
I hear you. I've been a super thread killer lately. I've even had some threads with 0 responses.
Guess I'm not as interesting to others as I am in my own head!
haha, I don't take it too personally, I just kinda assume my jokes aren't really that funny. I guess I'm a little more self concious, cause in truth, I've never really gotten along with other girls. I just figured it was me.
Happens pretty often.
There have even been thread-killer threads :P
@KatNYC2011: I'm not as interesting to others as I am in my own head!
That is pretty much me in real life too. I'm the only one who ever laughs at my own jokes....
@.twist.: same here, but then a lot of my jokes are stuff out of Hitchhiker's Guide to the galaxy, or video games, or something really geeky, so either no one else gets it, or thinks I'm lame, haha.
I should prolly take a conversational course or something.
Everybody has killed a thread a time or two....dont let it get to you! And the only way to be "popular" among the boards is to just keep posting so you get recognized more!
That happens to me all the time, and I feel kinda crazy for keep on reloading my post responses page and seeing that they still say "No replies since"
@.twist.: Yea. I grew up thinking I was WAY funnier than I actually am, since my little sister always laughed at all my jokes. She still does to this day. It's a thrilling ego boost.
@LadySapphire: Geek jokes are awesome!!
Yeah, like the last 4 threads I posted on. :P I also tend not to get a reply to my reply ever, like even when the OP directly responds to other posters. It makes me wonder if my replies are...bad/obvious/unhelpful info. :) Oh well.
Ah boo! not true!
But I totally feel the same way sometimes
its happens to me all the time and i tend to post alot! i hate when i see "no replies since" when i go back and check haha
i also try and go through and read the posts that have little or 0 posts on the boards that way people dont feel left out :)
@bellagio: or when they say thanks to a certain poster, and you're thinking "i thought i was the one that came up with that idea...." thats happened to me a couple of times too
hahah im so glad you posted this! i thought i was the only one who felt this way. unfortunately, in my case, i still think it is true. oh god, watch no one else respond to this...
actually, when i first heard about all the drama on the other site, i immediately thought to myself "i bet they all conspired to not respond to my threads!" lol
@MsJeep23: I Love geek jokes and always lol at them, makes me glad I have my own office :D
I'm a lot better handling animals than talking to people so my bf teases me that I'm a lot happier in a barn than in a salon anyday. Mainly because my mind goes really fast from one subject to the next, so my sentences don't exactly link together properly, lol. But I'm working on it, and am hopefully making more sense when I talk (or in this case type).
I am responding to this thread and now it will DIE!
In some weird, twisted way this is supposed to make you feel better knowing that you are not the ultimate thread-killer. It is I!
@bellagio: Ugh. I feel you on the OP replies. I think sometimes (mine at least) are pretty minimal in information, and maybe it's just not worth replying too, or like you said, obvious? I don't know. Maybe I'm not putting enough thought into my posts.
I tend to fear writing something really stupid & embarrassing, so I keep my replies pretty simple.
@Oneeleven: :P I think I'm just being self conscious sometimes.
@Koala Bear: Haha, yes, that's happened to me.
@.twist.: I think I do the same thing only with more factual information. Most of my posts are pretty straight-forward. I don't want to offend anyone. :P
I think the worst was a 3 paragraph reply I gave someone once on how to correct posture before the wedding. I was the only reply, and she never responded afterwards. :P Total thread killer.
I'm totally in this boat. I feel like I haven't posted enough to have any "friends" on WB and I get frustrated when I see 0 responses and have to bump my own threads.
@Ms. Meowerson: Haha, I wondered too if I was being talked about or if I was annoying the "snark-goddesses".
PS I've been missing your weekly WW threads, are you still doing them?
I've almost posted this before. When I look at my User Activity board, literally 90% of my recent replies say "No replies since." I posted a Harry Potter reference on a thread yesterday, and it felt like Christmas when people actually liked it. Let's face it, it's always nice to be liked!
@Monkeyface: I feel the same way. I've never really felt like I was 'buddies' with someone.
@MsJeep23: haha I am totally that sister too! I think my brother is pretty funny, but I also think a lot of things are funny that probably aren't. :)
@LadySapphire: I think at least if you're referencing something funny and someone just doesn't know what you're referencing you get a pass as still being funny. :) right?!
@.twist.: Oh I hope so! I'm gonna use that for anytime my posts kill a thread, haha.
@tntrav44: lol well just to make today christmas too, I extremely enjoyed the HP reference!!! (lol I think i was the one that commented last time too) I swear i go bonkers everytime there is one, no matter what the post is on!
@Koala Bear: Haha yay!! I appreciated it! I also love HP references. I teach high school, and I make them in class all the time. It's worth it for the 2 kids that get it haha.
@KatNYC2011: Kat!! Yes, I had to post last week's a day early though since I was out of town on vaca... definitely didn't get as much traffic on a Thursday. I also refuse to weigh myself after the vaca lol!
@bellagio: That's terrible! I always try to reply to people in my OWN threads! Bizarre. They must not have been THAT concerned about it then!
@LadySapphire: Me too. Even if it's a reference I made up. LOL.
I always read your posts.
@Ms. Meowerson: Ah I must have missed it. I WI on Thursdays but don't look for your thread until Friday.
You posting this week?
I wanna jump on this train, I always seem to kill all threads, mkaes me think maybe Im totally useless in all advice, opinions and rubbish jokes lol :( I hope I dont kill this one off.....
I'm really happy that this thread is helping other bees, and I'm also really happy it's being responded to, haha. Thanks for being so wonderful, ladies^^
@Oneeleven: that made my day! thank you.
@KatNYC2011: most definitely. unrelated sidenote: i only embarassingly recently discovered that :"Mos' Def'" is short for Most Definitely. I'm brilliant like that.
@Ms. Meowerson: its okay I just realized what PITA stood for.... {Pain in the...} for anyone who is as clueless as I am sometimes
@Ms. Meowerson: Haha.. did you just think people liked to talk about Mos Def all the time?
