I felt like that too! I didn't really DIY very much for the wedding because I didn't have a lot of free time so my wedding wasn't unique like everyone else!
Awww, I'm sorry you feel this way!
I work here so I kind of feel the opposite
BUT I will say this -- if you are finding ideas / inspiration, helping people out or getting help - you're totally not slacking!
If it really bothers you maybe you can make the site work FOR you instead of feeling like it's working against you....for example, maybe put your To-Do list into you Bio to help you keep organized?
Oh, also on the idea of wanting to personalize your wedding more - maybe you can tell us about some hobbies you and FI enjoy and that will spark some Hive creativity?
I feel like a slacker in the rest of my life...because on here = not doing anything else! Wedding related or not! But I will still be here....aaaaahhhh....addiction.
Yeah, I totally do- but being here keeps me motivated and avoiding my slacking tendancies. I'm definitely not as on top of everything as my FSIL was when she was planning her wedding, but I also have a hard time *really* caring about some of the formal details.
I think I'm just having a poor me day! I went to Michaels to spark some ideas and walked out with just stuff to scrapbook our engagement. I haven't done anything DIY yet, but am going to take a baby step and be in charge of the hotel info sheet. Fingers crossed!
You don't have to DIY to make your wedding special and unique! And keep in mind that for most of your guests, your wedding probably was/will be unique to them. Most of them don't read the blogs, so they have no idea what all is out there in wedding land. Something as simple as a square-shaped cake could really wow a guest who's never seen one before! You can personalize your wedding by music selection, wardrobe choices, etc.
@ Mouse, thanks for the pep talk! You're completely 100% right. I just need to come to terms that I'm just not a DIY bride and still admire all the great work out there. Thanks!
That's pretty much how my break went. I was planning on getting lots of small projects out of the way, and I spent time here, or just looking online.

I LOVE this website and go on it a couple times a week. I must admit though, I often leave her feeling like a BIG slacker. I haven't done any DIY projects and feel like nothing I have done yet has made my wedding really stand out. I'm still 6 months away and plan on doing some personalized things, but nowhere close to what others are doing. Anyone else feel this way?
