@RenoSweeney24:  Aww hugs! I feel ya! I have scars on my hands from being electrocuted and am super self conscious about my hands. The scars on my left hand are on the under side, but I still know they’re there. Plus due to the nerve damage, I feel weird with people touching my hands, so I don’t know how I’m going to go if people go to grab my hand to look at the ring, lol. My natural instinct is to pull my hand away, I even do this to SO when he grabs my hand without any warning. I’m trying to stop myself from doing it cause I don’t want to seem rude haha.

@RenoSweeney24:  Not so much about my hands, but definitely my nails. Ever since we looked at rings, I’ve been really concerned about them and how they look, even though my proposal is about 2.5-3 months out.

@RenoSweeney24:

Here’s a pic I have posted in another thread on here about insecurities. You can see the scars on the middle finger from the bottom knuckle up. I wear a ring on that finger so my brain registers that it’s still there, if that makes sense…

@lina010: haha same!! i’ve been trying to keep them manicured, just in case… but i have a feeling i’ve got a good 4ish months to wait, so a bit longer than you 🙂 you never know though, and i don’t want to be caught with chipped or unpolished nails!! plus keeping them polished keeps me from biting them and i’d like them to be a little longer for photos and for anyone who wants to see the ring! i have a friend who got engaged and posted all these photos with acrylic nails – but they were really grown out and she was missing a few, totally distracted me from her gorgeous ring but then again… i’m a little OCD hahaha.

Yes, I was wondering this just this morning! I have bad eczema on my hands and I’ve been trying super hard to get them nice as I’ve had hints the proposal will be very soon. I’ve managed to get the topside of my left hand fairly under control but the other side’s a mess! Just wish I didn’t have to think about it! *hugs*

@RenoSweeney24:  Nah, not many people do.. But it’s something I’m always conscious of.

@Stormchild:  You poor thing! I know how frsutrating eczema can be! I hope it stays settled for the proposal!

I am totally anxious about my nails! I have always bitten my nails (and have tried about a million times to stop) and they look TERRIBLE. I jokingly tell my SO he has to let me know when it’s coming so I can stop biting my nails and make sure they look decent. I’m terrified that the day eventually proposes will be a day I decide to bite like crazy and leave my nails looking more awful than usual!

After getting engaged I started obsessing about my nails. I have NEVER had nice nails. They are paper thin and split or break the second they grow past the skin.

I kept shellac polish on them for months and felt much better about how they were looking. Now I’ve relaxed a little about it but I will always wish my nails were “better”

@RenoSweeney24:  Thanks! I got acrylic nails once in hopes that they would help and they DESTROYED my nails. Are gel nails better for your natural nails than acrylics?
