My fiance and I are getting married on July 2, 2015. We started dating on July 2, 2011 and got engaged on July 2, 2014 of this year. It is our anniversary for everything. I am just curious if anyone is getting married on their anniversary?

Me. Me! We met on the 13th December and our wedding will be 13th Dec too! It was just lucky that it worked out to be a Saturday night the year we wanted to get married. I love that we keep the same date 🙂

Bored6: Yes, despite my best efforts to sway him otherwise.
Our anniversary is February 9th, and that’s the day HE wants to get married. (We’re eloping so no planning involved) Well, last year on our anniversary (and Valentines Day) he was on a ski trip with his friends…they have one annually, and it’s just whenever they can get best deals. I’ve made it VERY clear that I refuse to spend our anniversary with his friends AND in a place where it’s cold. I hate cold weather!!
He’s hearing NONE of this and has shot down every idea I’ve had for a different date.
So yes, getting married on anniversary. Sorry for mini rant.

Kind of. Tomorrow (10/13) is our dating anniversary (3 years woo!!!) and we’re getting married on 8/13/16. So we’re keeping the 13, just changing the month!

bubbycakes: Date twin!
We are getting married the day after our anniversary. We started dating December 12, 2009. Getting married December 13, 2014.
He wanted to get married on our anni, but it was a Friday. On top of it being less practical for guests, it’s way impractical for me since that week is finals week for me! So we compromised and just pushed it a day back (beats waiting another year!). Then we realized it would be 12-13-14 and thought that was pretty cool!

We got as close as possible while keeping it on a weekend. Our anniversary is June 16th, so we picked Sat June 11. No weekday weddings for us.

We were going to. Before being officially engaged, we had talked about getting married on our anniversary. Next year our anniversary falls on a Friday, which we were going to work around and have an evening wedding. But then we had to change venues 🙁 Our new place only has Friday morning weddings to accomodate rehearsals for Saturday weddings, so now we are getting married eight days after our anniversary. I was really bummed at first, but at least we still have the month.

We actually didn’t mean to, it just worked out that way.

We did! Five years ago, we got married on the anniversary of our 1st date.
I know the question was about getting married, but I thought I’d chime in, too.

Nope 🙁 I really wanted to, but our anniversary, September 25th, doesn’t fall on a Saturday until 2016 and we couldn’t wait that long. Also, we’re both grad students so a mid-semester wedding would be a bit difficult. Instead, we will be getting married June 13th.

Bored6: snap! Our anniversary is the same as yours 🙂 the plan was to get married on our 10 year anniversary 2nd July 2015, we didn’t care that it was on a thursday until we found our venue smack bang in the middle of the city. With parking issues, rush hour traffic and after work drinks everywhere we’ve pushed it out to Sat 4th July much to the amusement of our friends

Bored6: We did. Just married on September 20th, our 10 years anniversary of our first date. Figured it must be good luck as we started dating during the World Series run for the Red Sox and they got it that year and broke “the curse” ;). He didn’t care when, I felt it was an important and significant anniversary. It was perfect and I am so excited to be his Mrs. and so glad we did it that day. It made it extra special.
