My FI and I chose the date that we first started dating. We will be getting married on our 6 year anniversary. Reading so much of all the crafty/creative things some of the ladies have done on here made me want to get a little creative with incorporating something to the extent of "our anniversary" into the wedding. I was thinking of some type of decorative board near the placecards that said thank you for sharing our 6 year anniversary with us. And then maybe adding our meeting/dating/courtship story. Thats as creative as I've gotten so far, and ideas/suggestions or is anybody else getting married on that special day??
We tried! Our original date was set to September 18th... our 6-year dating anniversary. However, someone booked our reception space before us, so we had to move it back a week. :(
i have to admit, im a little jealous. we wanted to do this so bad but our 6 year anniversary falls on a sunday and it just didnt work for us. so we're getting married the day before instead (:
We actually REALLY wanted to, but the timing just didn't work out. Ours in Jan 29th, which falls on a Saturday, but my fiance will still be in college and the semester will have started by then. Plus, Fridays are much more affordable. So, we moved it up to the 7th
We're close - our Anniv. is 9/7 and our date is 9/5. We'll be on our Honeymoon.
We were talking about booking the H-moon the other day when he said, "If I told you on our 1st date that 4yrs from now we'll be on our Honeymoon, would you have thought I was crazy? I would've thought I was crazy." HAH!
12.12.2010 - - we wanted it terribly and it was also a Sunday which we were looking for b/c we're Jewish...It was already taken

Wow! That is our 6 year anniversary as well. We hope to get married on August 20, 2011. I think it would be a great idea to let everyone know that it is your anniversary!
No, but our dating anniversary and engage-iversary is today! We wanted to get married on a Saturday and we would have had to wait until 2011 for that to work out. We couldn't wait that long!
yep! fi and i will be getting married on our 7th anniversary! its going to be a crazy week! we will get married in one state on 5/13/12, i graduate from school in another state on 5/19/12 and my birthday will be 5/20/12!
we discusses another date post graduation, but decided our dating anniversary would be lots of fun!
its nice to know there are others out there! im kind of scared people will think we are crazy ;)

I can't remember the exact date of our dating anniversary, but to us it is the 1st weekend in December. We tried to get married on 12-5-09 but it was booked, so we took 12-12. Even though it's not exact, it's totally close enough for me. Early December in general just reminds me of when we started dating, so I was excited that we were able to do it then. We seriously celebrate our dating anniversary so I wanted to be able to get married then so we could just make it one anniversary.
we got married on the anniversary of the day we met (a month before we started dating) and the anniversary of our engagement (a year after we met).
we didn't use anything from it in our wedding, but we did have our engagement party where we got engaged- at a campground.
I started a part time job 4/8/98, saw this really cute guy there got to know him for about a month, asked HIM out with friends 5/8/98, became inseparable ever since. Got married 4/8/00 at age 30 and now celebrating 10 happy years 4/8/10 at age 40.
Eight has always been his lucky number his whole life.
I was hoping for it, but for it to work out that way we would have had to wait until 2014 for it to fall on a Saturday. Not willing to wait that long!!
We are but didn't plan it! I orignally wanted it around our birthday because we share the same Birthday month and met on his birthday. We bought an Aquamarine engagement ring (our birthstone)! But the birthday dates were taken so we went with the next open date. As it turns that date was our 1st dating date, so cool!
btw... only a few more days to the big day! :)
We are getting married on our 6 year and 1 day dating anniversary. So almost!
We got married on our 7th dating anniversary. The only real incorporation was that in our personalized vows we both said something about "in our past 7 years together". But now the date has a ton of meaning to us to share that day. I think a story board would be great to share the meaning with your guests, or something with the tables numbers...
We got married on our 6 year and 1 day anniversary too! 6 years was on a Friday (our rehearsal dinner) so we celebrated with friends and family. It has been so fun to celebrate our dating and wedding anniversaries together!
We were going to! But it was so close to FH's birthday that we decided to seperate the two a little more. We were then going to get married exactly 1 month later but that happens to be two days after my brothers 1 year wedding anniversary and we didn't feel right making them spend their 1 year at our wedding (side note: SIL's coworker is getting married same day as they did and she's IN the wedding lol). We finally settled on a date between our birthdays...his is in Sept, mine in Nov and our wedding will be early Oct.
we are getting married on our 5 year anniversary - which is why we are waiting til May 2011. 5 is also my lucky number and, well, we couldn't agree on any other date - its also a friday which works perfectly and because it is planned so well in advance we had no trouble getting our venue.

i totally wish we could!!! it would be our 13th anniversary :)
But our anniversary is Dec. 29 and so close to NYE (and greater chance of bad weather) we decided not to. i love the idea of it though!
We're getting maarried two days before our 3 Year Anniversary. We got engaged the day before our 2 Year Anniversary.
We're getting married on our '7 year anniversary' -- it's not the anniversary of the date we 'officially' started dating, but rather the anniversary of the date we first met/spoke.
My FI was the one who picked the date, and I actaully didn't realize the signifigance until he pointed it out to me. It made me melt a bit to realize that he actually thinks about these kinds of things 
Our 'actual' anniversary falls on a Thursday too, so we lucked out on having a Saturday available.
We're pretty close to it. We did try to get closer but vendors were already booked!
lol. I hope not. Ours is 4/20. And there are too many connotations that we wouldn't want suggested about us.
Close! We're getting married October 30, and we had our first kiss on October 29th. Complete coincidence, too since the 30th was not our first choice for the wedding, but the only day our venue had open.

We're getting married on our 4 year anniversary, September 4, 2010. It actually wasn't done on purpose - that was the only date available at the venue, but it's a pretty neat coincidence :)
We tried to..but it didn't work out since it falls in the middle of the week. So we picked the weekend before. So we're getting married four days before our 9th anniversary. (yes, I've been pretty patient....lol) We thought of doing the weekend after, but some family members weren't going to be able to make it that weekend. Since it wasn't on our actual anniversary it didn't bother us to move it to the weekend before. Plus it gives us a totally new date to celebrate our love together.

My fiance and I are getting married on our 6 year dating anniversary! I've always kind of wanted to get married around our dating anniversary...and it just happened to fall on a Saturday, which worked out perfect! 10/23/10!!!!
We are! It also happens to be the wedding annivesary of his brother and sister in law, so there is even more meaning there. I love your board idea! I think we're also putting together a slide show that we might use at the rehearsal dinner since we're having a big get together at his house of pictures of us together and with friends and families throughout the years....we'll probably put the pictures to music and include the story! Congratulations, it's fun to have such a meaningful day!
We wanted too, but the date didn't work for our families to travel (we're getting married overseas) so we switched to a month later!
We are tying the knot The Day Before our 7th dating anniversary! We wanted to do it the Day of but it's on a Sunday in 2011. It's on a Saturday in 2010 but..... another family member already chose that date... So @ midnight of our reception we will probably have to celebrate 7 years & a new beginning!
We aren't exactly, but doing our best. Our first date was a Friday the 13th in January, but we can't have a January wedding because we're in school, so we're getting married on Friday the 13th this August.
It was the only date we could really come up with. Down in South Florida the discounts are the opposite, Summer you get discounts and our peaks are the rest of the year. Our anniversary is 7/14 and it just so happens that our 9 year anniversary falls on a Saturday. So that's our plan. I hope everyone doesn't kill us for having an outdoor ceremony in the dead heat of South Florida summer.
It was my dream to get married on out dating anniversary (Sept)--I always wanted fall wedding!
But sadly my husband is in graduate school and I needed time to move across the country, find a job, etc, so we got married in June instead.
We have been dating for 10 years and really wanted to get married on our anniversary but of course it falls on a Sunday so we are getting married on that Saturday.
