Ugh, YES. And I had dinner plans tonight AND tomorrow night, and brunch plans on Sunday. That's all flushed down the crapper now. :(
If it snows so much that I can't get to my salon tonight, I may cry. I need a cut SO BAD.
Started the morning with a hearty shovel! BF wakes me up "oh hey, look out the window, get up, we're shovelling the driveway". I don't think anyone is going to be at his job today, but he is Mr. I-get-awesome-person-awards;I-will-try-to-go-to-work-even-though-people-in-VA-can't-drive-in-even-one-snowflake! (was that enough dashes?)
Yep, I am! I'm at work right now waiting to get off, lol. I much rather it snow this weekend than next weekend though, I Love Valentines Day!
So this is the third major snowstorm, and we still have not bought a shovel. We live in an apartment complex, and the snow plow usually comes through early and gets the parking lot cleared. But sometimes we still have to dig out the back of our cars. Luckily our neighbor across the hall has a shovel and a broom that she lended to us in the first snow storm in December. I'm just going to count on that. Not going to find a snow shovel today!
We got snowed in last weekend (not because the snow was that bad, but Durham just doesn't have the resources to deal with it) and it looks like we may get iced in this weekend. All totally avoidable if there was some salt around!
Like Lamb, I live in the Triangle area in NC, and although it only snowed 6" or so by me, it was a bit treacherous because they just aren't used to snow here, and weren't able to clean it up. Kind of funny to see people freaking out though (I'm not from the South originally, so I'm more used to snow than most people around here!)
Not me! (But I live in Atlanta...) hehe. Lots of rain and flooding AGAIN! Make it stop!
I'll be snowed in right with you girls. I live right by the MD/PA line. I was hoping to try out a couple places for the rehearsal dinner and make it to a bridal show, but that looks like it will all be put on hold. On the positive side, I’ll work my invites and snuggle time! :) I hope you girls enjoy your snowed in weekend!
I'm in Va beach and again, we're supposed to miss it all. I hope, like last weekend they're wrong though... I actually LOVE snow storms :-)
Can't wait get some snow, hoping that I get off early today and possibly not have to go in on Monday, planning on getting HW done this weekend and hopefully seeing some frieds for Super Bowl
i am all ready for the snow. made a biiiiig pot of guinness stew in the crock pot last night, got a case of beer and a ton of Relax wine, and have munchies and wings to make for sunday superbowl in case we are still snowed in :) i am ALL set :)
Mr.D and I are planning on getting snowed in with friends in baltimore :) I'm in DC for work this morning and will be taking the train up to meet everyone this afternoon :)
We got about 2-3 inches of snow outside but it is also raining out there right now. My boss called me at 6:20 this morning to tell me that we aren't going to open 10 at the bank today. I just woke up and saw that there was snow and called her telling her that I don't feel comfortable driving in it. She says it is mostly slush in the town I work in but then that town is 25 minutes away from my house. So it is my call if I go in or not. I wouldn't mind driving it during the day but the bank doesn't close till 6 today and the earliest I will get out will be 6:15 and won't get home till at least 6:45 if I do go into work. Just don't want to be a nervous driver on the interstate like I was last Friday. It took me 45 minutes to get home last Friday.
Being a snowed-in pro (in upstate NY), everyone make sure to get some staples... food, candles, matches, a little grill... since you are getting 2 feet in just over a day and there is a chance you might lose power!
Yup! I'm not all that happy about it though. I was supossed to have a date night with my SO on Tuesday, but I had to leave after an hour because of snow. We reschedule for Friday...and now it's definitely not going to happen. Sigh. It better be a good snow, haha.
@dandelphia - me too! I'm in a greasy pony right now and it's been about 10 weeks since I've gotten my highlights done. My appointment is at 6 and NYC isn't supposed to get it until late tonight so I'm really hoping I'm okay!
Yes :(. I was supposed to go to breakfast tomorrow at Shady Maple in Lancaster. Looks like that is sqaushed :(
From the sounds of it, we will miss the really bad stuff. But I have to work at 7:45 on Saturday morning which is gonna stink! There's nothing worse than getting up early in the morning to clean off your car and drive unplowed roads! I'm just grateful it's not this weekend, and not next. FH is coming up for a visit!
I won't lie, I LOVE snow, and I am super jealous of everyone getting hit hard with the snow. I used to live in Ohio and we got a little snow every year. When I moved to Chicago, I was excited to have snow all winter long! Not. It's barely snowed in Chicago this year, and Ohio has been pounded! So jealous! Haha. Good luck to all you ladies who will be snowed in! Keep warm and stay safe!
I can't believe the storm might actually skip us here in Massachusetts! I hope you all stay safe and warm if you're getting snowed on. I'm doing the 30-hour famine with my church youth group tomorrow, so I'll be in all day anyway, snow or not!!
Yes, and I cant wait- I love the snow... plus I dont feel bad about not going to the gym because it's too 'dangerous' to leave the house.
So glad we shoveled/salted before Bf left for work, it won't be as bad this evening when he leaves to come back.

so the weather channel has predicted that we will be getting 18-24" of snow in my area (South of DC, the southernmost part of Maryland). Anyone else getting snowed in? What are your plans this weekend? I didn't have any, so I'm glad it's not going to ruin my weekend! FI is supposed to go see the Capitols (Hockey team) play in DC tonight and Sunday and he bought $90 seats, so if he can't get to the game he's out almost $200. As of this morning he said he's still going! Crazy man.
