I cannot stand being on the phone for more than a few minutes. For some reason, it makes me incredibly irritable! I’m not sure why I dislike it so much, but I just HATE IT! It has nothing to do with who it is on the other end of the line…no matter who it is, I just don’t like it! Please tell me I’m not alone in this!

yes. yes yes yes. The only thing worse is calling and listening to voicemail, I can’t stand it.
When people ask to contact me by phone, I tell them to email instead.

I hate it too.
I stopped answering my phone and my business phone. I make everyone else answer it (at work)
I feel Interuppted, put on the spot, bored and anxious.

You are not alone, I cannot stand talking on the phone.

It causes me a lot of anxiety. The only person I actually call is my mom. Everyone else I text or email!!

YES. Especially when people send me an email or Facebook message saying “call me.” Sometimes a phone call is necessary, most of the times is not. This makes me irrationally cranky.

I normally don’t feel too bad about it, but when my fiance is traveling for work and calls me at night, I feel so guilty for wanting to get off the phone! It’s not him…I’m that way with everyone! But it just makes me feel bad, and then I wonder what the h*ll is wrong with me!

I don’t mind talking on the phone normally, but ever since getting my new Iphone i get the horrible digital sound in my ear all the time. So yes I hate it on my current phone.

gotta say, I’m not a fan of texting either. Basically having to interrupt the flow of my activity to communicate upsets me. I guess I’m crossing my fingers for the day they develop telepathy for the average person. Not too much to ask, right?

@crayfish: This exactly. My mom is basically the only person I talk to on the phone. Even Fiance, I could probably count the number of phone conversations we’ve had in all our time together (it would be less than 10). Last month, my cell phone died and I had to call him to come pick me up and I had to psyche myself up before actually calling. It’s my fiancé, for goodness sake!

YES! I HATE TALKING ON THE PHONE. Most of the time I feel like the phone call was not that important. Usually the person should just text or email!! I feel awkard and I hate that other people can hear my entire conversation. Only time I enjoy talking on the phone is when my SO is away working and I get to hear his voice. Other than that, DON’T CALL ME!! lol

I don’t like it either most of the time. I don’t mind talking to my stepdad or FH, but I’m a get to the point and end the conversation kind of person, and my stepdad is like that. My mom is ok too, but we mostly text.
Mostly I just get irritated at the thought of getting a phone call.

yes! I hate it! I tend to not answer my phone if it’s a friend that I know will talk my ear off. It’s funny because in HS I was ALWAYS on the phone! Now, no way. I coudn’t tell you the last time I had more than a 5 minute phone convo.

Me! Unless it is very specific people. Otherwise I dread it. Voicemails are the worst though. I refuse to listen to them. I’d rather just read it quickly and be done with it. Though I did spend 6 hours on the phone with my first boyfriend. I blame young love and no licenses!
