Anyone else have hair that just WILL NOT CURL? What are you doing for your hair?

musician32992: Unless I use cans of hair spary and mousse my hair will not hold a curl, with all that it will hold it for about 20min so I feel you there. I’d say why fight nature? The updo pics you have are great looking and can easliy be dressed to be modern and chic or classical and romantic. A few wispy tendrils (like pic 2) are really easy and actually work best without the addition of any product. The plus side is that at the end of the night you’ll be able to let your hair down and relax without tons of old product in the way.

musician32992: My hair, too – it won’t hold a curl unless it’s cemented into place. For my MOH’s wedding we all had curly half-updos. At the end of the night I pulled out my bobby pins and everything stayed put. It was so crunchy with product! Our wedding is on the summer solstice in the foothills, so it will be hot, so I’m planning a low updo. Here are my main inspiration photos:

My favorite is number 1, with the small braids of number 2. But there is a definite “feel” to these photos.

I have bone straight hair that is also short (A-line bob) I have zero idea what I’m going to do with my hair!

My hair hates curls and products, so “Hollywood locks” were totally out for me as well. I went with a sleek updo. Now, my hairdresser sucked so I didn’t like it, but it would have been even worse had she just curled it.

I think your first inspo pic is great, so classy and elegant!

musician32992: Don’t lose hope just yet! I always thought my hair would never hold a curl, but the stylist at my friend’s wedding gave me curls that lasted – I kid you not – through the next morning! She used a curling wand, and I think that made all the difference.

Hey I don’t know if you guys have tried this new curling iron, but my hair won’t curl at all, except with this.

Yeah totally not relevant to wedding hair styles, but hey, I know the frustration.

My hair is very, very fine and soft… it doesn’t hold a curl to save my life. I can curl it, the curl just doesn’t hold.

On my day I wanted a very simple down-do with a few curls, my stylist promished me she’d get my curls to stay. She sprayed my hair before, during & after with hairspray and the curls stuck!

I love your hair inspiration pics, they are gorgeous! My hair is super straight and curls fall out of it within about 5 mins, so I am having an updo too. Here is my hair trial (it will be neater on the day):

Even sleeping in rollers doesnt work for me! I don’t have any pictures, but I did a braidy hairdo instead. I like curls but just can’t have them.

I’m glad I’m not the only one with this issue! I am still heart set on a half up do, just not sure whether to stick with my usual straight hair or cross my fingers for a miracle worker to make curls work! I was considering doing extensions to help add some volume and was hoping those would hold a curl but we’ll see. I don’t dislike up do’s and the ones posted are beautiful but I just feel like I need my hair down because it’s more “me”

Just to let you know, the grass is not so green on the other side of the fence lol I have VERY curly hair that takes lots of work to get straight and if it so much as touches rain, snow or humidity it will be curly again. I’ve learned to love it over time.

I love the styles you’ve chosen!! Braids or twists are a great alternative to curls 🙂

I second what MrsPiggles said. My hair would not hold a curl but I got the Curl Genius by BeLiss pro from Sally beauty (which is almost identical to the curl secret by conair) and idk what the difference is but it makes long lasting curls with no product. I am amazed. Definitely look into it!
