most of the photographers i’ve spoken to have said i can see a full wedding when they meet with me in person (they’ll have an album for us to look at). i think they may not want to send you the full wedding because they don’t like distributing their photos, plus their clients may not want their whole album emailed all over the place. but they should definitely let you see a full wedding when you meet them.

Keep looking. It’s certainly not an unreasonable request. They may not want to show you all of the raw images, but they should be willing to show you the edited pics from a complete wedding, or at least a full album from a single wedding. In my humble opinion, anyone who won’t show you more than a few highlight photos is hiding something…

I’m curious – have you asked them why?

When we met with our photographer, she provided us with several sample albums of weddings that she shot.  These included pictures from getting ready all the way to grand exits, but we didn’t look through an entire CD worth of photos.  Maybe they aren’t letting you see an entire wedding because of the sheer number of pictures?  Or maybe because they don’t have a client’s permission to show you their shots?  Or maybe they aren’t in a format that they can easily show them to you?  I’d ask.

When I was doing my research, almost all the photographers offered to send me a link to an online gallery of an entire wedding they shot.  My wedding is not near where I live, so maybe they were so helpful becuase I wasn’t going to be able to meet them in person or go to their studios to see full weddings before making a decision.

I do think it’s weird, almost all photographers offer online galleries and they should be able to give you access very easily.

@ehsquared: i think you should be getting more than 100 photos from the day. even the smallest packages i’ve looked at have given you at least 400-500 photos (and they should be taking an unlimited number, assuming it’s digital).

We didn’t get complete wedding but he gave us the links to 3 weddings where he posted about 50-70 photos in each one. We found this to be acceptable, as I totally understand privacy issues. It was enough photos to give us an idea of his style and nice to see multiple weddings in different locations.

@ehsquared:  I think you are smart to look elsewhere.  100 pictures does not seem like much for a wedding (for any other type of shoot maybe, but not something that is hours and hours long).
