I’m a Casablanca bride too! I’m an 1892 to be exact. I’ve had my moments of dress envy, but when I put my dress on, I know it’s perfect for me!

I have purchased TWO dresses and still have dress envy!  I don’t have either dress yet, so I’m hoping when they come in that at least one of them give me goose bumps 😉

Dress envy – yes!  After trying on 30 dresses, the only one I didn’t want to take off was a big, poufy dress with a loooong train.  Totally inappropriate for a small, outdoor wedding.  The consultant and my mom were both laughing at me.  But I LOVED the dress.  It wasn’t even anything about the design.  I don’t remember the bodice at all.  I just loved the fact that it was big and poufy and princessy.  But for me, completely out of the question.  Sigh.

I haven’t had much dress *envy* but I have had *second thoughts*, which I guess are a related feeling. I tried on 55 dresses total when I went dress shopping, and the one I bought was the only one that made me feel bridal. And that feeling only came when I sat down and looked at myself in the mirror and I loved how the skirt looked while sitting. The dress won’t arrive until like September, and when it does I’m altering the neckline from halter to a regular two-strap v-neck, so when I look at pictures of the dress I can’t quite picture it as it will look like on the wedding day. And then of course the model on the Pronovias website is like six feet tall and a size 2 and that throws my perception of the dress totally out of it.

I’ve had moments in which I doubt my dress. I look at pictures of other dresses that I tried on and think "if I had bought that one instead, would I be doubting myself?" The people who I’ve shown my dress to say that the dress is fabulous and fits my personality perfectly, and I do agree with them, but I still can’t help but wonder… I just try to stay positive and I’ve convinced myself that once the dress is here and the alterations are made so that it looks like what I want it to look like, then it’ll all be better and my doubt will fade away. Because I do love my dress, I really do… it’s just that there’s that nagging ‘the grass is greener’ feeling, ya know?

I don’t have dress envy I have skinny bride envy. It’s so hard to find a dress when you’re a size 12. I think I found a dress when I see it online but then I try it on and I hate it. I just want to find the right dress. Is anyone else tired of trying on dresses.

I bought a Casablanca and had doubts about it after purchasing it because I didn’t like how I looked in the pictures.  So I bought another dress that I did like and plan to sell the Casablanca dress.

I purchased the second dress that I tried on and for the months between November and May when I went for my first fitting, I was terrified that I would not love it as much as I did when I bought it. I had the whole emotional response back in November, however, since then I have seen so many dresses and thought maybe I should have at least tried other dresses on.  However, when I went in for my fitting, my fears and envy went away because it really is the perfect dress for me!!

I’ve thought about being a Casablanca bride.  LOVE the 1951.  I just didn’t want a high-waisted dress (empire-like).  I almost made the decision to buy the dress but decided that I might feel the same way you’re feeling.  I don’t want any regrets, but gosh, the price is right and I hate scowering for my "dream" designer dress for the "right" price.

If you don’t have another dress on your mind, and you love your current dress, don’t sweat it!  You’re lucky enough to have found ‘the one’!

Apparently it’s veyr common and very normal to have dress envy and to have dress remorse.

There are just SOOO many gowns out there that OF COURSE there’s always going to be another gown… always another venue, photographer, florist etc… but we have to try and go back to the reason we made our choices in the first place and remember how we felt and why we did it and realize that we made a good choice no matter what!!

And many times you’ll see photos of gowns that are beautiful but if you were to try them on they wouldn’t look as good so dont’ forget that you did try on some dresses and chose your dress for a reason.

Also, stop looking at dresses in Mags or on posts like this b/c it only makes it worse!!!

I just bought my dress but I know that I will inevitably go through this in time…
