I know these colors are not the typical spring wedding colors but they happen to be my favorite so WHY NOT?  My FI and I both love red and knew right away that that would be our main color.  I just love how romantic and classy it is, I just hope I can pull it off!  Anyone else?

We did red black and cream. It was more of a winter feel, but no reason you can't make it spring-y. Tulips would be lovely, I also live peonies (are those in season in May?). No matter what time of the year our wedding was, I would have done those colors. My favorite too!

You can totaly pull that off! If you are worried about it not being Springy enough you can add small accent colors like orange or yellow. But I even think it would be fine without them.

Yes I agree!  I don't there are "rules" for wedding colors and the season!  I actually LOVE red roses so I'll be doing those but still looking into other flowers as well.  These are my bridesmaid dresses.  I need advice on what flowers to use for their bouqets.

    Anyone out there with suggestions?

@magilnyc: I love how pretty the black and red go together!  My only issue is I don't want to do red roses for my BMs b/c their dresses are red and I don't want to overdo it with red.

@CupCakeMeg you're so right!  I love the classic colors, they never go out of fashion!  And they are beautiful!

@angelica3025: maybe you could have the ladies hold white/ivory or a mix of red and white/ivory roses! =)

@cr6zy: Do you have any pictures?  I still haven't picked out the flower girl dress.  I really want her in red but relatives keep pushing for a white dress.

Have you guys decided on the linens?  I'm having a hard time deciding what colors to go with.  I just want to make sure it'll all come together nicely.

We're doing ruby red and black as the core colors with white accents. I realize this is an extremely popular wedding color, but those are our favorite colors together! It was that or tiffany blue with brown, but my mom practically threw a fit when she heard we wanted brown as a wedding color. She evidentally doesn't like brown... So, my FI and I decided that would be the color theme of our bedroom when we buy our house. Good compromise, I think!

We also wanted to make sure we didn't do RED red. We wanted a darker red. I feel this feels and looks more romantic and beautiful, but that is my own personal preference! :)

@magilnyc: Aw how cute I love that picture and I love their dresses!  I might look for a similar dress for my flower girl!

@Ctinaditty: I agree I love a darker red!  I love all reds actually!  lol  Actually I don't feel red, black and silver is very popular anymore.  Everytime I see wedding color threads I hardly ever find a bride using those colors.

I am! I'm doing black, red and silver. Dark red though. Deep and rich. And then my boyfriend has asked if I can find a way to add a touch of dark (jewel toned) purple here and there. Yes my man asked me to find a way to add purple. God I love him. Hahaha.
